Looks like he did get a nice bump after all. Whether it was the debate or something else, I'm not sure. We still have a ways to go and the numbers may change again.

I think Paul just tanked Santorums run with Conservatives with Santorum shooting off his own foot.....moreover rumor has it Romney's been talking to Rand Paul.

Wow ya think? Interesting idea. I would support that ticket.

They havent said, other than he has been in talks with him. Now I am wondering about that Romney-Paul Friendship.

That's what makes it sound plausible.

Rand Paul certainly would strengthen him but what does he bring to the table to help in the General as a VP? I mean what States can he help him win? I don't know if if a majority of Independants will go with them if he is just the VP.

As resistant to change as the GOP may be I think it's slowly occuring to them that they will at least have to move in another direction. I think there are a lot of people like me who consider this a victory for Paul's ideas and an acknowledgment of discontent.

Granted that and I applaude the move and support more than you know. Personally I think it high time we take back the party from the Conservatives. The argument of being fiscally Conservative is simple in my minds eye. Common Sense. Moreover it should be applied by both ends of that spectrum, and in all aspects of Government.

I would take this as a move to nullify Paul in the future. VP not much more than a mouthpiece. Now getting him onto that Senate finance Committee is another thing. Or in some sort of Cabinet position.

What would be one way that the GOP can take away from some of Obama's numbers off the get go and just with a VP pick?

Conley

I don't think VP picks mean much. Especially if comes down to Obama v. Romney or Obama v. Santorum. The only time maybe is if it were a very close state and the VP were from that state. Personally in Rand's case, if I lived in Kentucky I would much rather he remain a senator than leave to go be VP.

A move to nullify Paul by electing by nominating his son, who shares his views, as VP? His ideas need more mouth pieces. I think gthis would be a significant victory in changing the intellectual climate in the GOP.

I don't think Romney is on firm enough ground to risk shaking the GOP like that. The choice would surprise me.

Mister D

He's the establishment's darling. He has only their devotion to lose. This could spark some interest in the ranks.

Conley

He hasn't even been able to clinch the nomination and is not exactly going against the strongest field. There are big parts of the GOP that aren't fans of his. I don't think his views align with the Pauls' especially his record as governor. Sure, he says he's more conservative now but that's not a surprise. Kentucky will go to the GOP candidate regardless. I just don't see it happening. I would love it if it did.

Many don't see it happening. Some are telling Romney to choose a woman.

That would seem to be the Choice.....Nikki Haley did endorse him right away and I think she may be up for re-election. But not many know of her. Condi would be the Strongest choice.

Mister D

Choose a woman, a Negro, a Hispanic...ugh. It's so transparently cynical.

However, Condi would really strengthen his ticket in foreign policy. She is very bright, capable and articulate and would be a strong campaigner. What I'd like to see is Condi debating that nitwit Obama, boy would she eat his lunch!

Good to see you around Mainecoons!

I would much rather vote for Condi over Obama, Romney (same thing), or Santorum.

I think Condi would know how to handle that Situation with Obama. :whip2:
