View Full Version : Question: Of the candidates bandering about for potential runs in 2016 who do you

Which ones do you think would actually give their all to decrease spending and debt? Not based upon their rhetoric , based upon experience and gut. ? Apply the same thing to the congressional races.
I come up with Paul's and not much else. Not a Dime's worth of difference between the mainstream repubs and the dems.

On the other side which candidates could preside over 4 or 8 years of peace and non interference in the affairs of other nations? Again I come up with the Pau'ls and not much else. This time there isn't a dimes worth of difference between the dems and the repubs

None will, until such time as they have a voting majority.

sachem

None will, is right. Even with a majority.

The train has left the station. Any change will be incremental and will take a long, long time.

And remember, no matter what they say they will do or what they want, the realities of the office and government are beyond what most people think.

I don't think that would do it. In fact I think that if either the dems or repubs were dominate they'd have to admit it was all showmanship and they have no realplans

None will, until such time as they have a voting majority.

I'd say Paul comes closest in rhetoric but think he just doesn't have the record for me to rely on him sticking to his commitments without compromise. It may be that gaining enough popular support, no candidate can remain committed to principles. Color me cynical, I don't vote, haven't since Michael Badnarik ran.

The real plan is simple:

1. Put the American worker first: No more general immigration for at least 5 years, no amnesty. No trade deals with sweatshop nations.

2. Put the government back in its place. Set a goal of 25 percent reduction in everything that is discretionary INCLUDING "defense." No more Department of Non Education. No more alternative energy boondoggles. No more bailouts of firms that need to fail and be reorganized. No more subsidies to construction workers in the form of Davis Bacon. No more revenue (money printing) sharing with state governments. Stop wasting 83 billion dollars on spies who spy on Americans while Muslim nuts keep blowing stuff up (Boston). Let Europe, South Korea and Japan pay for their own defense and let them do it. No more world policeman.

3. Stop wrecking our own energy industry. Turn them loose and make the Middle East irrelevant to the U.S. When we have to iimport oil, import it from suppliers in this hemisphere.

4. Repeal ObamaCare, reform health insurance to make it national, take away the feedbag of the ambulance chasers, stop buying penis pumps with Medicaid. Stop paying psuedo scientists for stupid "research" on things like the color of monkey balls, etc. Make it easy for states to set up their own single payer systems if that is what their people want.

Spend the next 4 years just repealing crap that doesn't work. If you really want to turn the country around, that's how you do it. Face the fact that most of what government has done from and including Lyndon Johnson's disastrous regime hasn't worked and it is killing prosperity and jobs.

Most Americans obviously think there is no hope. I agree, shut it down.

or

Vote for Ted Cruz and he along with his teabaggers will fix everything overnight. The only thing he lacks in quantity compared to Rand Paul is racism but you just know he's got it and is waiting to bring it out of his closet. Cruz is perfect for what ails murica! gud blus murica!

You disagree with my choice for a candidate? Sonny boy, I think I understand the issues in your country better than 99% of you uneducated lowlife haters do. But I might have missed something about Ted Cruz or Rand Paul so maybe you can tell me a thing of two? Can we begin with baggerism or libertarianism wet dreams of anarchy?

No Chris, don't shut it down, that was for their consumption. Talk about what needs to be done. I'll start by saying that income inequality needs to be minimized and raising taxes on the top 10%+- is the way to start. I suspect that's going to take a reformed Dem government and I don't see any alternatives waiting in the wings. You?

You told me to remind you to tell me how harpers actions are hurting your country, being he is more conservative than any of the candidates we have running so far? Could you please show us all just how conservative values kill a nation

As for the call of racism, either put up with proof that republican's are racist, or explain why the polices of the non racist Democrats are all geared toward insuring that the communities of color are totally dependent on the government and can't rise from poverty!

In answer to the original question I don't think any of the current group will actually do much about reducing the size and scope of government. That is, unless we also change the make up of Congress and change the minds of 40 percent or more of the population who actually wants bigger and bigger government.

I will support Rand Paul so far but I don't think he is another Ronald Reagan.
