Pennsylvania Voter ID Law Struck Down as Judge Cites Burden on Citizens

“Voting laws are designed to assure a free and fair election,” the judge wrote in his 103-page decision (http://www.pacourts.us/assets/files/setting-647/file-3490.pdf?cb=a5ec29). “The voter ID law does not further this goal.”

In addition, Judge McGinley ruled, the state’s $5 million campaign to explain the law had been full of misinformation that has never been corrected. He also said that the free IDs that were supposed to be made available to those without driver’s licenses or other approved photo identification were difficult and sometimes impossible to obtain.

It was such a burden to require people to have ID to sign up for obamacare.

The soft bigotry of low expectations: minorities are too stupid to figure out how to get IDs, so liberals will remove that requirement.

Yeah, it's kind of like how they want everything to be in English and Spanish because they think Hispanics are too stupid to learn English.

Given your post are the majority more stupid? Soft bigotry doesn't come close to your bigotry nor ignorance. The fact a person who has lived here all their life, voted here all their life now needs an ID doesn't seem to occur to the braindead, try eating fish they say that helps intelligence.

midcan5 Where is the vaguely relevant poem that typically takes up the bulk of your responses? Don't I merit a poem?

What do you mean about the majority being stupid? In an attempt to clarify in a manner that even you can understand, albeit likely fruitless, we are not discussing democrat voters in general. We are discussing the leaders and activists. And yes, when they claim that requiring an ID to vote harms minorities and old people, they either don't mean it, or they are racists. Not in the KKK hang the n*** sort of racism, but, as I said originally, by means of the soft bigotry of low expectations. So yes Midcan5, if you think minorities can't figure out how to get a photo ID, you are a..., well we have established that already.

Midcan and Cigar celebrate election fraud. They think the decision of a lower court judge makes the fact that most Americans support voter ID irrelevant. I realize liberals have no interest in what the proles want. As Rep. Pelosi said of Obamacare, we would pass it if nobody wanted it.

So, Midcan and Cigar celebrate the position that Democrats, in general, are too stupid to get IDs to vote and can only get them to claim government benefits.

And, Midcan, part of the problem is that those people who've voted here all their life don't stop when they die. I realize, that's not a problem for you. It is for Americans, though.

BTW, voter ID in Canada:

Countries directly to the north and south of the U.S. require voter ID.

Its already been established that Canadians are much smarter than Americans (at least according to the Canadians posting on this forum) so they know how to get ID's. Its the dumb stupid redneck Americans who can't figure out how to prove they are who they claim they are.

Funny thing, when I moved to Tennessee I had to provide identification in order to get my electricity turned on. Is having electricity in your home a bigger threat to the country then voting illegally?

The threat for liberals is to their power and not to the power in the home.

The right requires excuses for their losses and mysterious reasons why the other side wins. After Reagan screwed up and Bush Sr lost, it didn't dawn on them that the reason they lost was in their mirror. Instead the investigations began, Whitewater was prime example. Someone convinced the right they were on the right track and since then, like children, they cannot face facts. The replies above from the right are the usual inconsequential whines. If righties had a brain at all they realize that voter ID didn't become an issue until THEY lost. So obvious they miss it. On top of that no voter cheating has even been found, but don't tell them, that simple fact would go way over their heads.

"Conservatism is the theoretical voice of this animus against the agency of the subordinate classes. It provides the most consistent and profound argument as to why the lower orders should not be allowed to exercise their independent will, why they should not be allowed to govern themselves or the polity. Submission is their first duty, agency, the prerogative of the elite." Corey Robin

And, you rationalize the fact that most Americans want voter ID how? I realize that for the left, what most people want is irrelevant. That's what purges and a bullet in the back of the head are for on the left.

Here's a leftist site you might enjoy:
"The poll by SurveyUSA indicates that 75 percent of voters favor a photo ID requirement, but 70 percent would not turn away a registered voter who doesn’t have one, if the voter signs an affidavit and provides a verifiable ID number such as a date of birth or social security number."
http://pulse.ncpolicywatch.org/2013/04/17/new-voter-id-poll-results/#sthash.AqelL0ZV.dpuf

Wow! Seventy-five percent and you accuse the right of ignoring public will. The left demands absolute submission. Hence their war on individuals.

Patrick, you have to understand that their 25 percent are absolutely convinced they are God's gift to humanity and know more than the rest of us, hence they have the right and the duty to spend our money for us and tell us how to live.

You give them far too much credit. People like Midcan are sure they'll be the Commissar in charge of what little shithole he's in. He'll amass a fortune, kill a lot of people, make everyone except a few chosen ones miserable, and enjoy himself for the first time in his miserable envious life.
