DE BLASIO BACKS CUOMO: WANTS CONSERVATIVES TO GET OUT

http://cdn.breitbart.com/mediaserver/Breitbart/Big-Government/2014/Famous-Local-Politicians/DeBlasioCuomoAP.jpg

by KERRY PICKET (http://www.breitbart.com/Columnists/Kerry-Picket) 23 Jan 2014, 8:42 AM PDT
http://cdn.breitbart.com/mediaserver/Breitbart/Columnists/Headshots-80x100/contributor-80x100-kpicket.pngNew York Mayor Bill de Blasio emphatically backed New Governor Andrew Cuomo’s controversial remarks that “extreme” conservatives – which he defined as being pro-life, second amendment advocates, or supporters of traditional marriage – “have no place in the state of New York.”

“I stand by that 100 percent,” de Blasio told reporters at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.

“I agree with Governor Cuomo’s remarks. I interpret his remarks to say that an extremist attitude that continues the reality of violence in our communities or an extremist attitude that denies the rights of women does not represent the views of New York State,” he added.
Governor Cuomo riled up conservatives in New York state as well as all over the country when he told a local New York State radio program last Friday “extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay....have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”
The remarks have snowballed into a major controversy, with Fox News host Sean Hannityvowing (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2014/01/20/Hannity-to-Flee-High-Tax-New-York-for-Florida-or-Texas) to leave New York City, prompting a bidding war between Republican governors to persuade him to move to their states. Hannity is reportedly eyeing a political bid in Texas. At the March for Life yesterday, one participant pushed back at Cuomo, telling (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/01/22/Pro-lifers-to-Cuomo-were-here-were-pro-life-get-used-to-it) Breitbart News, "We're here, we're pro-life, get used to it."
De Blasio conceded that “we all understand there’s a right to free speech. I wouldn’t disagree with that right and neither would Governor Cuomo.”
But exercising that free speech could put you on the wrong side of New York “values,” de Blasio maintained. “I think he’s saying that the attitude of those who want to continue the status quo on guns or want to challenge and deny the right to choose does not reflect the values of New Yorkers. He was absolutely right to say what he said,” de Blasio stated.
When asked by a reporter if he does not feel the need to reach out to those who disagree with him and would rather others share his values instead, de Blasio responded, “The first point is, we represent our people and Governor Cuomo is right and I believe I’m on firm ground in saying our people, the people in New York State and the people of New York City reject extremists views against a women’s right to choose and in favor of the proliferation of guns in our society. And I stand by that 100 percent.”
De Blasio is under fire in New York for the city's disastrous response to the recent snow storm, which prompted questions about why he was in front of the television cameras in D.C. instead of working to fix the roads back home. De Blasio admitted Wednesday "more could have been done."

Imagine the firestorm of controversy that would happen if a Republican said that liberals were not welcome in his state or city. The media would crucify him, and rightfully so. But liberals can say any stupid thing they want, and get a pass.

I hope Cuomo and De Blasio get what they want and every conservative leaves New York. Conservatives are, almost without exception, hard working people who make good income and pay taxes. If New York loses all its conservatives, that state and city will have a hard time paying its unionized cops, firemen and teachers.

I think this would be a good time for our PF liberals to denounce these foolish men, and make the case that not all liberals are equally foolish.

I think that would be a cool attitude to take IF we really had federalism then we could congregate in states that felt comfortable and write or not write our own laws.

The story features direct quotes from Mayor De Blasio. Direct quotes. Are you making the claim that he has been misquoted? Because so far he hasn't.

A mayor who can't get the snowplows working has failed the minimum standards competency test. I expect more failures to follow. De Blasio is a leftist ideologue. He cares not for the day-to-day monotony of running a city.

Here's the thing. the GOP needs to hammer this from now until November. Prince Andrew and Chairman DiBlasio have made enemies a'plenty in the People's Republik Of New Yorkistan. Oh, and Exotix, many areas have had unchecked Liberalism for decades with disastrous results. Exhibit A-Detroit.

Texas could clean up all of those problems you listed if the government would close the boarder?

It smacks of fascism for a government official to declare that people he disagrees with are not welcome in his state or city.

Also, it gives his people the green light to harass those who disagree with said government official, as we have already seen with Obama's IRS scandal and Christie's bridge-gate.

This will come back and bite both Cuomo and De Blasio in the ass when they end up with their own scandals.

Did you see that Obama is coming out with enterprise zones around the country, but Detroit is not one of them??? The people I Detroit noticed!

And the honorable Terry Lynn Land (R) is leading all Senate Candidates, so it looks like we will give the GOP one more republican congress person, and a Republican Senator!

I am to have hope. And After the disaster years of Granholm, AKA the mole! See her brilliance on Bill Mahr frequently! WE finally has two years in a row of government surplus!

The Rust belt is finally turning Red!

It is closed. We don't have a problem with the ACA here because the republican governor decided it would be a good idea for the state and good for taxpayers to get some of their tax money back from the feds. DUH!

Texas still hasn't figured this out yet....

Wasn't there a Chicago mayor some years back who lost reelection because of this very situation. The city was tied up because of snow?

I doubt this guy has been in office long enough to know where the snowplows are even parked. The Mayor of a city does not manage this stuff personally, the question that needs to be asked is whether he is responsible for replacing competent with incompetent or failing to supervise the people who are responsible.

It seems that the inevitable result, however, of electing extreme liberals to positions like this is that basic services go south while redistributionist schemes and gross bloating and overpayment of government workers explodes. Continue in this direction long enough and you end up with Detroit.

The well documented exodus of the productive from NYC is already accelerating according to the reports I've seen. Once this develops momentum, it is almost impossible to reverse. NYC has been propped up by Obama's stock market bubble which is about to burst. That will further accelerate the decline of NYC.
