...then how will people be protected from lies, misinformation, and scams that may appear on them? How will the consumer be protected from shady moderators and owners if the government doesn't subject them to a formalized vetting process? And how will these internet fora be run? Like a rootin'-tootin' wild west where anything goes? What about the children who are exposed to this anarchist wasteland? This seems like a public health and safety issue. Remember, your rights are not absolute.

How are we going to be protected from the lies, misinformation, scams, and criminal activities of the government? Expanding government power doesn't solve that problem but rather exacerbates it.

The government sucks at regulating the internet, anyway. The e-mafias are turning over billions every year.

They need the so called underground economy. If all crime stopped tomorrow we'd be in a full on depression, largely because of the things we define as crimes: Like drug use.
