The Chamber of Commerce has always been for a lose immigration policy. They like the cheap labor.

With millions not in the labor force, we want to add millions of foreigners to compete with unemployed Americans? That's insane.

It is because the Nanny state system prevents low income Americans from taking those low skilled jobs they go on welfare instead.

If we actually reformed the system they would not need to import workers

It is insane. However, as Mexico's economy improves, the issue is becoming moot.

If Mexico's economy improves, will they take back all the illegal immigrants they sent us?

No, because the Mexican economy depends heavily on American dollars sent by illegal immigrants to their families in Mexico.

The reason Mexico sucks is because Mexicans live there.

So the more Mexicans come to America, the more it becomes like Mexico, and the more America sucks.

Go into any Mexican neighborhood and you will see what I am talking about.

The Chamber of commerce is a corporate tool, its funding and ideas come from corporate wealth. Same can be said for MSM, but few pay attention as lives are busy and Americans are the mostly brain washed.

Noam Chomsky on Adam Smith & Invisible Hand, he also mentions Mexico and NAFTA.

"Not only does there seem to be widespread social fragmentation and disillusionment with democracy in the United States, but the possibility of reversing this sense of alienation appears to many of us to be already lost. Any democratic president who wants to institute the desperately needed reforms in health, welfare and the environment faces one of two options. He can stick by his reform program and suffer a loss of public confidence through orchestrated campaigns to publicly portray him as 'too liberal' and ineffectual (the Carter image) or too indecisive or sexually indiscreet (the Clinton image). Alternatively, a reforming democratic president can move further to the Right, forget his promises and become part of the propaganda campaign. Given the history of democratic propaganda in the United States, some of us doubt that another Roosevelt or New Deal is possible. The political system is now so attuned to business interests that this kind of reformer could no longer institute the substantial health, welfare, education, environmental and employment reforms the country needs." The Mexican economy is picking up and consequently less are coming here, and more are going home. The energy sector is booming.

Both of you are correct. "Repatriations" or money sent back by Mexicans in the U.S. to family members here has declined drastically but is still a major factor in the Mexican economy. And more Mexicans are returning to Mexico. Interestingly, our party last night was catered by one such couple. We now have a number of Mexican contractors around town who have returned from the U.S. Everyone is glad of this as they are more skilled in doing things correctly and also it is easier to communicate with them.

Mexico is still way too dependent on the U.S. The government is very aware of this and looking to decrease that dependency with increased trade with other countries. There's a real awareness around here among the Mexicans that the U.S. is a governmental disaster and in serious decline.
