This is the Nature of War.....did they not kill innocents in every war since the beginning of time? Seems whomever is in War always, does so!

But I Highly doubt, this guy was given Orders to do so. He may have snapped, and decided he was tired of dealing with double-crossing backstabbers and those of the Unrighteous Lot.

It's extremely doubtful that that was the result of a mission.

No, Obama didn't. The military commanders in the field did. You can't blame everything on Obama but you can blame him if he doesn't cut this thing off and bring the troops home very soon.

Right.

I'm not excusing what happened here, but atrocities have happened on both sides. Remember the Afghan pilot who went after his American companions?

Eight U.S. troops and an American contractor were killed early Wednesday when a veteran Afghan military pilot fired on trainers during a meeting in a military compound near Kabul International Airport.

The Taliban claimed responsibility in what it said was the latest attack by an insurgent infiltrator.

The pilot opened fire about 10 a.m. after an argument with a foreign colleague at a meeting in the operations room of the Afghan air force building, according to statements released by NATO and Afghan officials. The pilot targeted foreign instructors and advisors, they said.

I'm reading Petraeus's biography and I don't know that Obama could have fixed Afghanistan no matter what he did. The war was already what, seven or eight years old by then? It's obviously a country with a lot of problems. The plan before this was to draw down to about 23,000 troops this summer which was already a big drop in numbers. Hopefully our withdrawal speeds up instead of slowing down. Let Afghanistan deal with Afghanistan.

Nobody can fix Afghanistan as anyone who didn't sleep through world history should know. Far better people than anyone in the leadership of the U.S. have tried and failed.

Really, the place is unfixable. What should be done with it is quarrantine.

Of course not. Bad acts abound in war.

No one thinks what happened is a solution.

Seems Kublai Khan had an answer that the Afghans didn't want to experience either. Same with his great grandchildren. History shows us the way.

When you mission slips into nation building, it is inevitable that your soldiers will resort to killing barbarians who refuse to have their nation built. Leave and carpet bomb for 36 months.
