That was a government agency’s recent summary of what a poll of citizens found.
But the poll was in Mexico—and the government agency was Conapred, the “Consejo Nacional para Prevenir la Discriminación” (National Council For The Prevention Of Discrimination).
For years we’ve been lectured by Mexican government officials (http://www.vdare.com/articles/memo-from-mexico-by-allan-wall-170) about how we should treat Mexican illegal aliens. (http://www.vdare.com/articles/vicente-fox-should-be-arrested-and-thrown-out-of-us-for-good) But, more recently, publicity has begun to be directed toward the bad treatment of illegal aliens in Mexico.
We’re talking about illegal aliens from the Central American countries of Guatemala (http://www.vdare.com/posts/bush-in-guatemala), El Salvador (http://www.vdare.com/articles/the-ugly-american-and-her-even-uglier-salvadoran-friends), Honduras (http://www.vdare.com/articles/memo-to-obama-chavez-castro-un-keep-your-hands-off-honduras) and Nicaragua (http://www.vdare.com/awall/miss_bolivia.htm), countries that are much poorer than Mexico. (http://www.vdare.com/articles/the-five-billion) Most of these Central Americans are passing through Mexico in order to get to the U.S, (http://www.vdare.com/articles/more-sob-stuff-from-big-media) although some do stay. Many are victimized by officials, private citizens or both. Illegal aliens are robbed, raped and sometimes killed. (http://blog.nj.com/njv_paul_mulshine/2011/12/stop_the_oppression_of_illegal_1.html) A particular gruesome massacre (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129427837) in 2010 left 72 dead (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703632304575450761550490920.html)
