Lilith (Hebrew (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Hebrew_language): לילית‎; lilit, or lilith) is a character in Jewish mythology (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Jewish_mythology), developed earliest in the Babylonian Talmud (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Babylonian_Talmud), who is generally thought to be related to a class of female demons (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Demon) Līlīṯu in Mesopotamian (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Mesopotamian) texts.
In Jewish folklore, from the 8th–10th centuries Alphabet of Ben Sira (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Alphabet_of_Ben_Sira) onwards, Lilith becomes Adam (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Adam)'s first wife, who was created at the same time and from the same earth as Adam. This contrasts with Eve (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Eve), who was created from one of Adam's ribs. The legend was greatly developed during the Middle Ages (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Middle_Ages), in the tradition of Aggadic midrashim (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Aggadic_midrashim), the Zohar (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Zohar) and Jewish mysticism (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Jewish_mysticism).[3] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-2) In the 13th Century writings of Rabbi Isaac ben Jacob ha-Cohen, for example, Lilith left Adam after she refused to become subservient to him and then would not return to the Garden of Eden (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Garden_of_Eden) after she mated with archangel (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Archangel) Samael (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Samael).[4] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-3) The resulting Lilith legend is still commonly used as source material in modern Western culture, literature, occultism (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Occult), fantasy, and horror.....snip~

What are your thoughts on Lilith. It is believed that she was known by Akkadians, Sumerians, Babylonians, Assyrians, and Hebrews.

I would imagine that she is one of the angles that fell with Lucifer when they made war on God. Lilith is referenced in one form or another in many cultures.

The new one on me was that she mated with an Arch-Angel named Samael. Anything I heard of before that was she mated with Demons. Althought in one writing it is said God sent 3 Angels after to persuade her to return to the Garden.

Does this mean once she left. She was encountered by other civilizations?

I would say yes.

I saw something on Lilith on the History Channel. I forget what the main topic was though.

According to the Sumerians and the Egyptians there were some evil malicious creatures running around. things that were bad enough to make people unite to fight whatever it was they were talking about. Whether they were demons or not is not known. Monsters. Creatures.

Writings that state evil was in the land and that man was made from it. This would run the same with Lilith then. What I am wondering about is the demons that the Talmud names. Other than Mesopatamian demons.

More on Samael:

In Jewish (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Judaism) lore, Samael is said to be the angel of death, the chief ruler of the Fifth Heaven (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Fifth_Heaven) and one of the seven regents of the world (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Continent) served by two million angels; he resides in the Heaven (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Seven_Heavens). Yalkut (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Yalkut)[disambiguation needed http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d1/InterlanguageLinks-Asset-Pencil-Hover.gif (http://toolserver.org/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dab_solver.py?page=Samael&editintro=Template:Disambiguation_needed/editintro&client=Template:Dn)] I, 110 of the Talmud (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Talmud) speaks of Samael as Esau's guardian angel. In Sotah (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Sotah) 10b, Samael is Esau's guardian angel, and in the Sayings of Rabbi Eliezer, he is charged with being the one who tempted Eve (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Eve_(Bible)), then seduced and impregnated her with Cain (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Cain). Though some sources identify Gadreel (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Azazel) as the angel that seduced Eve, other Hebrew scholars say that it was Samael who tempted Eve in the guise of the Serpent. Samael is also sometimes identified as being the angelic antagonist who wrestled with Jacob, and also the angel who held back the arm of Abraham (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Abraham) as he was about to sacrifice his son.
According to "The Ascension of Moses" (Chapter IV - Aggadah - The Legend of The Jews - By Louis Ginzberg (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Louis_Ginzberg)) Samael is also mentioned as being in 7th Heaven:

In the last heaven Moses saw two angels, each five hundred parasangs (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Parasang) in height, forged out of chains of black fire and red fire, the angels Af, "Anger," and Hemah, "Wrath," whom God created at the beginning of the world, to execute His will. Moses (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Moses) was disquieted when he looked upon them, but Metatron (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Metatron) embraced him, and said, "Moses, Moses, thou favorite of God, fear not, and be not terrified," and Moses became calm. There was another angel in the seventh heaven, different in appearance from all the others, and of frightful mien. His height was so great, it would have taken five hundred years to cover a distance equal to it, and from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet he was studded with glaring eyes, at the sight of which the beholder fell prostrate in awe. "This one," said Metatron, addressing Moses, "is Samael, who takes the soul away from man." "Whither goes he now?" asked Moses, and Metatron replied, "To fetch the soul of Job the pious." Thereupon Moses prayed to God in these words, "O may it be Thy will, my God and the God of my fathers, not to let me fall into the hands of this angel.
In The Holy Kabbalah (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Kabbalah) (Arthur Edward Waite, 255), Samael is described as the "severity of God", and is listed as fifth of the archangel (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Archangels) of the world of Briah (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Beri%27ah). Samael is said to have taken Lilith (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Lilith) as his bride after she left Adam (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Adam). According to Zoharistic cabala, Samael was also mated with Eisheth Zenunim (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Eisheth), Na'amah (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Naamah_(demon)), and Agrat Bat Mahlat (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Agrat_Bat_Mahlat) — all angels of sacred prostitution (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Sacred_prostitution). [1] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-0)
Samael is sometimes confused in some books with Camael (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Camael), an archangel of God, whose name means "He who sees God".
It is also said that the Baal Shem (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Baal_Shem) once summoned Sammael, to make him do his bidding. (Tales of the Hasidim, by Martin Buber. Book 1, page 77.)

So Baal Shem summoned him eh......if he was the one to tempt Eve. Causing this turmoil with man. Then why did not any of the Other Arch-Angels kill him? Since he is bound to the physical plane and specifically this World.

Summoning an Angel or a Demon. This would give credence with Solomon being able to do the same thing. Funny how Holy Writings and or books talk about Witches, Wizards and Sorcerors being on the earth. Now just think if they were doing these things as well.

Moreover I thought Gabriel Was the Angel of Death. Does that say what 3 Angels were sent to bring Lilith back?
