The U.S. soldier suspected in the killing of 16 Afghans in a shooting rampage last week was being flown from Kuwait to the military's maximum security prison in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas Friday, as more details emerged about his state of mind when the massacre occurred.
The transfer of the chief suspect in the March 12 shooting rampage came as Afghan President Hamid Karzai slammed the United States Friday for its handling of the case, saying he was "at the end of the rope," the Associated Press reported (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/AS_AFGHANISTAN?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAU LT). The Afghan leader, meeting with relatives of those killed in southern Afghanistan Friday, also alleged that more U.S. soldiers may have been involved in the massacre.

The victims in one family were shot in four separate rooms, "and then they were all brought together in one room and then set on fire," Karzai said at the emotional meeting with family members Friday, according to the AP (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/AS_AFGHANISTAN?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAU LT). "That, one man cannot do."
Browne described his client as a decorated soldier and happily married father of two children, ages 3 and 4, whose extended family had been "totally shocked" by the allegations about their relative.....snip~

This soldier has been wounded, lost half a foot, had a concussion head injury, and was standing next to his buddy who had his leg blown off. His attorney also stated he was upset with this 5th deployment.

What would Karzai have us do differently? He knows we would never turn one of our own over to Afghanistan. In the United States, we have something called due process. We don't just lynch people on a whim. Even more reprehensible, he should not be speculating on the nature of the crime committed and fanning the flames of extremism. He will be a casualty just as surely as our own brave soldiers have been.

He's just trying to save his own skin. A lot of good that's gonna do him. We should throw this dirtbag under the bus since he is fanning the conspiracy flames.

Also, why on earth does Karzai consider it impossible for a man to kill a family and put all the bodies in one room?

Wonder how the Afghanis would feel if all of the US was about laying waste to all of Afghanistan? Personally I wouldn' even leave them a country to live in. I would be about laying waste to every hovel they dwell within. Every city, town, village and rock they live under.

I say we team up with the Russians and make sure nothing moves in Afghanistan. But the Wind!

Also, I would tell Karzai where he stands when he opens his big mouth. First off.....he needs to learn. No one gave him permission to open his mouth about anything. Secondly.....he can start running NOW!
