‘Fox News-Addicted’ GOP’er Signs Up For Obamacare: "I’m a Republican, And You Should Get Covered!"

http://upload.democraticunderground.com/imgs/2014/140331-obamacare-its-not-just-for-democrats.jpg

A self-described “Fox News addicted, staunch Republican’ has been helped by Obamacare. Despite the constant fight against the law, Mark D. Bearden, Ph.D decided to explore his options. What he found shocked him–so much so that he decided to share his story.

From Whitehouse.gov:

I am a staunch Republican, a self-proclaimed Fox News addict, and I didn’t vote for the President. And I’m here to tell you that Obamacare works. I’m living proof.

I’m a chemotherapy patient, and was previously paying $428 a month for my health coverage. I was not thrilled when it was cancelled.

Then I submitted an application at HealthCare.gov. I looked at my options. And I signed up for a plan for $62 a month.

It’s the best health care I have ever had.

So right now, here’s what I want to tell anyone who still needs health insurance, or knows someone who does:

Sign up. Follow the instructions on the website. Apply, and look at your options. You still have time, and take it from me: This is something you want to do.

I wrote a letter to President Obama this past February to tell him about my experience with the Health Insurance Marketplace. I hoped he’d read it, and he did.

I may not be a supporter of the President. But now, I get mad when I see Obamacare dragged through the mud on television.

And even though I regularly tune in to conservative pundits, I’d like to tell them they’re getting it wrong. Obamacare works.

So one more time: If you still need health insurance, you have just three days to get it. Do what I did. Go to HealthCare.gov, submit an application, and pick a plan that works for you.

It just might change your life.

Because some shameless obamacare plug couldn't have written it and said they were republican...

Impossible I say impossible! Politics aren't that petty right?

Who cares? This is just a stepping stone too single payer anyways.

I agree ... it should have been Single Payer in the first place, but The GOP would have never allowed it, based on their commitment they made January 20th 2009.

So let see ... you're saying only Democrats are sighing up for ObamaCare.

I'm sure you have the facts to back up that claim  we'll wait for you to post them

It has made me a criminal for not having health insurance. I wasn't before obamacare. But, at midnight tonight, I will be.

Aw, what the hell, go get covered and tell them you need a fat subsidy. Most of the ones who signed up have. Why be left out?

Gonna be fun in a few short years when those subsidy costs start wracking up and the trillion dollar deficits return.

The republican resistance to this was strictly symbolic, not literal. The democrats could easily have gotten single payer and the resistance would have been just as symbolic. Republicans could have shut everything down and repealed it but they didn't fight hard enough.

This resembles a mob run scripted boxing match where the designated loser 'goes down in the 5th' on cue.

Parties don't matter. He's a modern progressive racist just like the rest of them.

Only supports the president and his anti-American policies because he's black.

If you think "Republicans" and "Democrats" right now are any different then you're an idiot.

Look at how our last "Republican" president broke the Constitutional boundaries, expanded government, slowed the learning process for our youth, started another war to spread shitty Democracy to people who don't respect us or show gratitude, and didn't care about blacks in Louisiana after Katrina.

All signs of a modern progressive. The party doesn't matter.

Doubt it. Like the insurance industry will let that happen. The government works for them, not the other way around.

Hmmm.... Military Industrial Complex (backed by globalist bankers of course) Vs. the Evil Health Insurance Industry...

My money is on the Military Industrial Complex.

Blackwater vs. Blue Cross Blue Shield. Is it even a question of who would win? One has guns and lawyers and politicians, the other has lawyers and politicians.

No matter how persuasive your argument is, or your bribes, that .45 slug has infinitely more bargaining power.

Well the bankers rule all, but all these special interests work together. Unless the bankers really want single payer, I don't think it will happen.

We'll see I guess. If the plan was single payer, they'd probably have just passed it from the get go.

I need to do another rant but having just returned from Florida and some of the most rabid Obama haters in the world, I wonder how it is these Obamacare haters and Union haters have the nerve to say anything when most drive Japanese or German vehicles that provide profit to nations that already have Obamacare and strong Unions? Seems if you were truly American you'd have to buy American products and then you'd have the right to whine all the time.

Added 5 % to my income and business taxes. and 40% to the cost of insurance to my employee's, if not for the waiver, it would have cost 21 jobs and ended the insurance program that my employee's have!

There is no such thing as a government program that has the same impact on each person.

Maybe some republican wrote that note, but the timing sure looks bad for Obama. He is well known to flat out lie and make things up.

That agreed to by you and I, now I make my case for being anti single payer.

Actually, a far better case can be made for single payer than for this shit called Obamacare.

Let me start with the money.

As it now is, the socialist social security system pays out far too much. I get money from social security so I know both what I put in and what I have taken out. Most of us would go to jail if they took that sort of cash from you or the Feds.

Then you have medicare. I have seen a hospital rake in huge sums for my misfortune to have open heart surgery.

Some say, well you got it, so why stop now?

Look at what the bastards in DC still do. They borrow and run up enormous tons of money. Yes, thousands of tons of money used to support socialism.

I am going along with the law. But the law is not correct.

Obama is a jerk. And he won't admit the damage done by his programs.

Next, This nation has to start waking up and paying it's bills. I don't mean pay them on borrowed money, nor ripping off the rich. If it works for them, it works for the rest of us. I don't want to be paying higher taxes. But this crap by Obama leads to just that.

You on the left act as if you are not going to pay.

But you are wrong.

Worse than you paying, your children are doomed to pay for your mistakes.

Does it make you proud to screw over your own children?

Oh, I had forgot to mention this.

Obama owned the congress. That is why the law was passed. I think as I recall, it passed by 1 vote.

So, stop making excuses for Obama. He was in charge and had full control over the congress.
