Hi @Germanicus (http://thepoliticalforums.com/member.php?u=768)Hey

. Sorry about that. Seriously.

In my opinion it is the best interest of the members of former USSR to unite. Federation of Greater Russia would give the region much more power.

The break up of the USSR has created conflicts and weakened the region. It makes no sense for small nations to form when they cannot support or protect themselves. Federation is logical for Greater Russia. Federation will be good for Russia and good for each nation of Greater Russia.

Federation is something that in all major regions. Africa would be much more powerful and ordered if the continent achieved Federation. A single currency. The idea for the African Dinar being the single currency for Africa would have given the continent of Africa much more power and wealth. The Federation of Africa should be a priority because many African nations simply do not deserve to stand alone and do not deserve to be nations. The West gives IMF loans that allow poor leaders to keep power when the do not deserve to keep it. The West has been propping up so-called nations that have no right to be independent due to lack of resources.

A nation can become the state of another nation without losing their identity. Australia is the only continent that has Federation. The Federation of the Australian continent has given our nation great wealth and far more power than a nation with such a small population really deserves. Henry Parkes was Australias Father of Federation. I am actually from Parkes Shire in New South Wales. We New South Welshmen have a very different culture to our Queensland neighbours. All Australian States have their own unique cultures. As different as NSW and QLD are we have more in common that with Victoria or Western Australia. South Australia, The Northern Territory and Tasmania all have more in common with Victoria and Western Australia than with New South Wales or Queensland. We are all competitive but at the same time there is unity. It should not be so hard to replicate this in Africa. Federation does not have to mean a loss of culture or national identity. Federation represents greater economic power and security. A single currency for Greater Russia would be a great thing for the region.

A region should be able to have a degree of economic independence. The rise of Germany before WW2 occurred under virtual Autarky/isolation. A region should be able to sustain itself within reason. Certain vital resources should be kept at four major delivery points as suggested by former World Bank economist Peter Keonig. This will help ensure better access and fair pricing for all. An Extranational body needs to oversee this but not the UN. The UN should be replaced by an extranational body that is not dominated by the West and gives equal voice to the less powerful nations. There should be laws against speculation of resources like food. A great deal more can be done to help weak nations achieve economic independence but the most logical and sensible solution is for regions to unite and harness their collective power.

Of course regions like Africa and the Middle East are a long way from Federation being possible but Greater Russia should be able to achieve Federation without too much trouble because it makes so much sense for former USSR nations to again unite and integrate with the East. There is talk of Russia, Kazakstan and Belarus agreeing to use a joint currency. The rest of Greater Russia needs to be a part of the Russian currency and a part of the Russian economy. The EU is clearly in a great deal of economic pain and cannot save the economies of nations like Ukraine. Russia is right to demand payment for the massive unpayed debts that Ukraine owes to Russia. It should not be up to Russia to prop up the Ukraine economy no gain. Ukraine is unable to stand alone and should be absorbed by Russia especially since the majority of the population desire to do this.

I hope that all nations of the USSR have a chance to return to Greater Russia through a plebiscite like the one held in Crimea. Integration with the East is the best direction for the future for the entire region. Federation of Greater Russia would be a great thing and Federation of all major regions and a move to a small basket of major regional currencies will create a much more equal, secure and stable global economy. Federation of the major regions of the world should be a goal for the global community to work toward. The Federation of Greater Russia is possible within the near future.

edit And that. I wanted to check the spelling. And this site does that. And I didnt want to start another thread. So sorry for going off topic OP. That fine.

Those are REAL brats. I know. I live in a city that has one of the (only) three REAL German deli's in the entire So. Calif. basin. It's been there for 40 years. Family owned.
German is spoken there all the time by the locals and the sauerkraut they cook up fresh permeates the store.
I LOVE that place!

It's hard for me to believe that, with a population of (2011 census est.) 18.2 million people in the metro. L.A. area, that there is ONLY THREE REAL German deli's. The ones that sell the brats (definitely NOT Foster Farms or Farmer John) that you pictured and other German products.
I've been in there on a Saturday (always packed, and the store ain't that big) and seen people going to points east (most of L.A. metro peps have to pass by here to go east) for their camping vacations and other trips. They buy 20-30 or more pounds of brats at a time (not cheap) because they stock up as they only pass by here every once in a while.

The only one's I've eaten were at Kroger, so I'll have to keep an eye out for them at a deli.
