The airline tweeted: "Sarah, we take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI."




"Sarah" quickly backtracked, saying she was a 14-year-old white girl who made the whole thing up.



“I’m so sorry I’m scared now,” she responded to American Airlines on Twitter. “I was joking and it was my friend not me, take her IP address not mine.”

The girl then spent hours on Sunday trying to explain the tweet and beg for forgiveness.
“I’m just a fangirl pls I don’t have evil thoughts and plus I’m a white girl," she tweeted.

She also pleaded: "I was kidding pls don't I'm just a girl pls."
In other rambling tweet she wrote "and I'm not from Afghanistan."

I see no problem with arresting her. Now whether or not she is actually prosecuted is another thing. I don't think it would serve any purpose to send her to jail, but she needs to learn that there are consequences to one's actions. Perhaps a fine and some community service would make her think twice before doing something so stupid again.

I just found this.


Many believed Sarah would have gotten away scot-free, but Michael van Poppel of BNO News reported earlier today that the Dutch police have since arrested the girl and will conduct their own investigations regarding the matter. It looks like she won’t be charged for anything though, but they still felt the need to speak to her given how viral the situation has gotten. Her Twitter account has been suspended as well.

Who was the first person to report this in the media? The internet is one thing but to run this as a news item is another thing all together.

The girls phot has been printed and shown to the world by media. Who was the first media to print the story?

Why did American Airlines make such a public display of this if they were taking the threat seriously?

To me the printing of her photo in media is illegal and all media outlets that used the photo should be sued.

There were many letters to the editor claiming instead of locking them up they should be given medals for (1) protesting against nuclear weapons and (2) for exposing the lack of security at the facility. Furthermore one of the participants was an 83 year old "Nun" and since she was a "Nun" she should have been freed. Nope, they all got jail time and should have.

The same with this girl (what what the f does her being white have to do with anything?) She perhaps should not be given a lengthy prison term but to dismiss her "prank" because of her age is absurd. What do you think would have happened if American Airlines had said, oh she is just a "fangirl" whatever that is, and she is white so we will just forget about it and then the aircraft went down?

I think they should get a punishment they will never forget. A block on their tweets will be removed by one of their hacker buddies before they left the courthouse. Ban them from having a phone period, fine the living shit out of the parents and put them in solitary confinement for a fortnight.
