But the indictment and Medicaid suspensions didn't deter Medicare from continuing to allow the doctors to treat elderly and disabled patients — and didn't stop the physicians from billing taxpayers for their services.

Medicare paid millions to dead patients, illegal immigrants, probe finds

Medicare paid $23 million for dead patients in 2011 and $29 million for drug benefits for illegal immigrants from 2009 to 2011, according to a report Thursday from the Health and Human Services inspector general.

The investigators said Medicare has safeguards to try to stop payments to dead patients, but it still ended up sending out the $23 million anyway.

Currently approx 43 million insured by Medicare and there is $60 to $90 billion per year in fraud. As if that's not bad enough an additional $52 million is stupidly just handed over to the dead and illegals who aren't supposed to even get Federal Benefits. These are the blithering idiots liberals want to run a single payer health care system for all?
