If the Feds believe it is necessary to level the playing field for certain groups, why not base it on income rather than race? Anymore poverty is the biggest cause of lack of opportunity more than a person's color.

Perhaps with the elimination of A-Action these victimized minorities might get the initiative to actually strive to better
themselves. Silly me, expecting these people to do something that benefits themselves is not something they have

It is more likely that one would be discriminated against for thier color than their income level. Not to say that Poor folk are not discriminated against.

The Supreme court was correct in ruling that AA in state schools is the state's issue.

Repealing Roe v Wade is not a states issue. The court has already affirmed that.

Benefits to illegal aliens comes from both the idividual states and the federal government. Any state that wishes not to provide benefits has that right today. Every illegal alien today could be deported if both Republicans and Democrats propose, pass, and fund legislation doing so.
It is the Funding part that has many looking the other way.

Affirmative action is discrimination based on race and is clearly prescribed by the equal protection clause of the United States Constitution, which applies to the states. So the Supreme Court is wrong. The states do not have the power under our Constitution to allow race-based discrimination.

Realistically, no politician would be willing to go as far as to punish a business owner by removing his business for what is seen as a misdomeanor crime.

Secondly, the cost of enforcing and litigating this law would be cost prohibitive...and most likely would turn into a symbolic act with so few businesses conficated as not to make a real inpact.

I think e-verify is a good starter system...but the Dems attached it to comprehensive immigration control and the (R)'s want a perfect southren border to even start to consider CIR.

Selling the stores will more than cover the cost. You're being obstructive by putting the worst-case scenario on proposals to solve this disgrace. I'd rather have the economic traitors fear the worst.

The problem is that the liberals specifically want black people to be poor, uneducated, and hopeless. The liberals don't care about poor people one way or the other.

Basing help on income levels would be better. I remember a black who sued to get admission to Berkeley. His father was a multi-millionaire and his grandfather was a law professor. Poor baby. And those white kids in Appalachia or Bensonhurst are so privileged.

I've also considered instead of universities giving preference to the children of graduates, that they give preference to children who parents didn't finish high school.

But, again, doing any of that would meet the liberal goal of keeping black down.

I'm sure we all suffer for Barack Obama growing up in the mean streets of private schools with the 'shroom gang. The man is a real inspiration for kids trapped in the Chicago ghettos.

I think people are way too concerned with the racial makeup of the country, because at the end of the day, if the preferred candidates and ideology that both whites and blacks vote for is functionally the same, it doesn't really matter.
