The article is poorly written, confusing, and highly misleading.

The title states Mrs. Davis slammed her own party. The opening two paragraphs reiterates this and attributes the quote to her.

Wendy Davis dissed her own party for ditching her campaign for Texas Governor.

The feisty Democratic candidate called the head of the Democratic Governors Association “uninformed” and a “Washington, D.C., desk jockey,” after he admitted the party was unlikely to win against Republican Greg Abbott in Texas.

However towards the end of the story it suddenly credits Davis' campaign manager, Karin Johanson, as the one who made the comment.

But the lack of confidence from her own party set Davis’ team off.

"The uninformed opinions of a Washington, D.C., desk jockey who's never stepped foot in Texas couldn't be less relevant to what's actually happening on the ground," Karin Johanson, Davis campaign manager, said in a surprising statement after Shumlin’s slight.

I also don't consider the decision to refrain from making Davis's race a priority "ditching her." Texas is vastly conservative and odds are a Democratic candidate won't win regardless of the contender. The DGA is simply choosing to use their assets on races and candidates that have a viable chance of victory. That in no way is a critique of Mrs. Davis. This tactic occurs on both sides of the aisle.

Lastly, the comment was not directed at DGA chairman Peter Shumlin. The story states Davis' campaign clarified that the comments were directed at whoever wrote the talking points regarding campaign priorities.

Depending on what polls you read, Mrs. Davis is around a dozen points behind. Certainly not ideal but not insurmountable. Mr. Abbott in all likelihood will defeat Davis but stranger things have happened.

Yes, this little tirade is going to go over quite well with the voters. Why dump money on a losing campaign? She's a proven liar and almost everyone is tired of lies coming from politicians. All you have to do is look at the poll numbers for the demonicrats. They are failing and flailing.

Wandering Wendy, a former trailer-park prostitute, lucked out in picking up a rich but wimpy lawyer who couldn't get a girl without buying one. She suckered him into paying her way through college and law school, where she turned tricks for grades. Remember, this is the same state that gave us Anna Nicole Smith.
