...wow...this really makes you think twice about judging the homeless...I was thinking about this the other day as I was watching a homeless guy...I was wondering what his story was...what made him homeless...it makes you think twice when you have a relatively good life and someone else doesn't...it makes you think twice...

Rina always treats them like they're telling the truth. She packs them sandwiches, blankets, and buys them coats in winter. It's one of the things I like about her.

This one guy was a Vietnam vet and at first kept calling her CIA coming to get him and she just kept on until he started talking about things and turns out he was a marine that lost 3/4 of his unit. I even knew the one he was talking about. He was in Vietnam same time as my dad.

I thought that could have been dad.

Hell, I worry about me. Yet another reason I don't drink.

Be careful as there is allot of impostors out there.
The Mission will give them a room and board. They have to leave their booze and drugs outside.

That is correct. Many of our vets have mental, drug, and alcohol problems on top of being homeless.

...regardless, they deserve better then to be tossed aside...when you give yourself to the service, you should not be tossed aside afterwards...

I talked to a homeless guy out near the White House on 15th Street a couple of years ago. He seemed legit. Know enough about the military and seemed cool. I gave him a $20 and thanked him for his prior service.
