Sandra Fluke--who gained fame (or infamy) in 2012 with her strident views as concerning the (supposed) obligation of healthcare-insurance companies to pay for contraception--has failed in her attempt to win the Democratic nomination for the California State Senate, from the 26th District. (Note: She has not lost the nomination outright--she will be in a runoff--but she did not win even a plurality of the vote. In fact, she garned just 19.4 percent in a five-person field; and that is 2.5 percentage points less than the leader, Ben Allen, managed.)

If even California is not especially enthusiastic about her--and it is a pretty blue state--would it be fair, perhaps, to suggest that she may have passed her apogee?

She's always been a loser.

19.4% isn't bad for a first time politician with no family or big business support.

And I don't know who supported her, just saying.

If I ran I wouldn't get 1.94% of the vote.

She ran from the far south of CA

She was not on my ballot

My vote for Gov won't matter.

Brown will bag a big win.

I have crossed over lots of stuff; which one are you referring to?

19.4% in a five-person field. Not bad for her. Bad for California.

Had she won it would have been a fluke.

Nominations in California are pretty meaningless compared to the rest of the country due to their jungle primary system. Basically, the two individuals with the most votes, regardless of party, face off in the general election. Meaning your geberal election choices could be between two Democrats or two Republicans, instead of a Democrat and a Republican.

Maybe she could run for Sturgeon General just for the halibut.

Sorry, I just had to. Lol

I believe that is similar to Louisiana's system.

I believe that is similar to Louisiana's system.

Yes and many other states, and in many other nations.

Okay, I guess it's not all that different from the rest of the country

The story is not about the governorship, Bob.

You're the very last guy here who should be giving reading and "stay on topic" lessons, Nic.

She simply confused her rights with whom is responsible to pay for her to exercise those rights. She was a kid, give her a chance

I don't believe the Catholic University of Georgetown ever succumbed to paying for her birth control so....no she didn't win.

On that basis, we could empty out D.C. and most of the statehouses.
