He says only the horses who have run the derby and the Preakness should be allowed to run the belmont. Does he have a point?

He has apologized for his outburst. But he does have a point. If you are going to be a Triple Crown contender you should run in all three races. However Totalist was not the first horse to not run all three races and truthfully the Belmont, because of its length, is a killer for some horses. Since the last Triple Crown winner 36 years ago there have been twelve horses that could have won the Triple Crown, only to lose at Belmont
