So we have lost our will to control the southern boarder of the USA, and it cost a Bunch!

It looks like there are about 26 million people form the USA that travel to Mexico each year So if you just do a little simple division that is about
That is about $8100.00 per person that is traveling to Mexico each year, So we can't get is all from the travelers.
But we can add a $500.00 tax for those people that want to travel to Mexico from the USA. that is only 13 billion so we are still in the hole 200 billion!
But there are a lot of people that travel on a daily basis! For business and other reasons.

There are 672,338 vehicle crossings per day on the US Mexico boarder or about 246 million vehicles per year
So if you charge each one $85 dollars that covers just the costs that we know about? But we need a profit, so after you charge the travel fees and the crossing fees, then you add $5 per person to cover the unseen!
Now you keep these tariffs in place until such a time as the illegal immigration is below 100 thousand per year!
Being that this would totally decimate the economy of Mexico, it would not be long until the Mexican Army stopped the illegal immigration problem!
