Good videos. I would offer two things that the US government has done well: the military; the Apollo Program.

What would you compare them too?

Peter1469

Why must I compare them to anything. I just said that I think that government run / ran them well.

Chris

With nothing to compare to how can you say govt did well?

I did not make a claim that the private sector could do it better or could not do it better.

I do suspect however that the private sector in 1960 could not have put a man on the moon by 1969.

I also don't think that the private sector could move 200,000 troops into a hostile nation in the middle east and logistically sustain them indefinitely.

No, you said it did well, and I'm asking by what measure?

I'd also ask in what ways? Inasmuch as the military has become interventionist, especially in the ME, that's not well. Not real sure what NASA accomplished, got us a hop and a skip into space. Technologically the two of course contribute a lot. But I still don't know how to measure "well".

The government, using private industry- via the LOGCAP contract, did something no other nation could do today- move 200,000 troops with their supplies across the globe and successfully sustained them for a decade- and part of that was in a land locked country. They did well at that task.

The government went from no capacity to reach the moon and sent men to the moon and back home within a decade. They did that well too. And the Apollo program was a success in economic spin-offs. So much so that economists stopped counting the benefits when they got to 26 to 1.

I don't think you understand my question and I don't know how else to ask it.

I understand your question. I answered what I wanted to answer.

That crash occurred centuries ago.

I can admire this guy because he uses logic to explain our problems, and not ONCE did he point the blame at any political party.

I can respect this guy because he uses logic, and he didn't once blame any person or political party in the issues he spoke of.

Never mind, I take that back. I watched the second video and he said that he thinks that Conservatives are more open minded. What? Now he's generalizing liberals and conservatives by how "nice" he has been treated by them. What a joke.

The blame is to Dems and Reps, and most of them. The problem is a government with too much power.

And us for electing them and allowing it.

And us for electing them and allowing it.

Agreed, the sheeple have sit by and allowed all of this to happen. Would our grandparents sit by and watch what is going on right now. I highly doubt it, people now days are too concerned in what they can get for free to worry about the state of the republic and what the outcome of their actions will be.

The Japanese have an expression, The nail that sticks out gets hammered down (deru kugi wa utareru). Those who stick out to point out this problem tend to get hammered.
