Very sickening. However, there is one part of the article which worries me.

'"Dreamboard members allegedly used the power and anonymity of the Internet to motivate each other to commit their horrific acts of sexual abuse of minors and trading in child pornography," [Assistant Attorney General Lanny] Breuer said.'

As atrocious as these crimes are, they make for great propaganda to put the kibosh on internet privacy.

Sick bastards.

Good point though Spunk...I'm not sure if you guys have followed Net Neutrality but it's just a matter of time until our internet gets regulated as tightly as everything else in this country. Political discussion boards? :D Forget about it, unless you're posting on ATT or Verizon's board, in which case your asses will get banned instantaneously. The global governments aren't happy about any of that stuff, Wikileaks being the biggest example, but a lot of others as well. Yeah, yeah joke about my tin-foil hat but I really think we're headed for the kind of censorship that is commonplace in the Middle East and China.

That's not tinfoil hat conspiracy. It's true. What government wouldn't love to be able to legally spy on whomever they please? To have information on exactly who is doing what and where?

Oh, I have no doubt they are already spying on us and recording everything we write.

Carnivore and more sophisticated programs have been around for days.

I am not sure if ATT, Verizon, and the others have the clout to really make the whole thing happen. I was pretty pissed with Al Franken's flip-flop on the issue. Dirtbag.

Franken still represents you Spunk? :D

Anyway, I agree that governments would like nothing better than have some control over the flow of information. The Internet is too free for their liking.

I almost turned it off for the Young Turk part, but plow through...

Sorry, it seems Google flip flopped more than Al, but I'll find the link eventually.

Sorry, I swear I read about it...maybe it was another issue he campaigned upon but I was pretty certain it was Net Neutrality.

I bet you're referring to the Patriot Act.

Spunk, I owe you an apology.

It was actually the Patriot Act where he flipped.

:D

Uh...well he still should have voted against the Patriot Act, which basically supercedes Net Neutrality because it means the Gov't can do whatever they want.

But fine...

Stuart Smalley's famous quote (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DIETlxquzY#)

Al, you are 'good enough'...
