The Church should understand that private charity does much more good than government dictate. Especially in the US where our government is typically lead by clowns.

Agree, insofar as the admin. costs to deliver services should be much lower. However, donations are way down in churches, since the public became aware of the massive payouts to the abused childrens' families.

They don't get the impression that their donations are going to good causes.

That is certainly true with the Catholic Church where much of the donations are going to pay settlements in pedophile cases.
