I heard this today. Watching Tom Rogan, current judge but former congressman, talking of his book.
Tom is very funny to say the least.

This is the story.
JFK while president was talking to Everett Dirksen then a senior person in congress. Dirksen told JFK that his secret to keeping himself looking young was to eat several spoons per day, of cold cream.
Yes, COLD CREAM.
Well JFK trusted him so he gave it a shot. He gingerly gulped down one spoon upon the other of Cold Cream. Well, some tried to tell him it was not to be eaten but JFK persisted. About three days passed and he had eaten several more spoons of the stuff when he was asked...
Say, Mr. President, you don't suppose Dirksen was pulling your leg????
With that, JFK tossed it into the trash and said ... Dirksen, you are a son of a bitch.
The audience was roaring with laughter.
