America is no longer a free capitalist society. the middle class has been destroyed and small business owners have been driven to extinction by suffocating inflation and high taxes. Big corporations run all the businesses thanks to their federal fascist business partners. Small banking institutions have been bought out by large banking firms all under control of the federal reserve which has printed so much money in order to serve corporations and Wall street firms, the dollar is nearly worthless but the stock market is soaring. The Washington elites point toward the markets as proof that their partnership with big business has been and continues to be a resounding success but at the same time, a working citizen's personal GDP vs. the ever sky rocketing cost of living has left working america on the brink. The majority earnings of most workers salaries go toward "the betterment of society." Entitlement seekers within the country keep crowing for more. Illegal aliens keep pouring into the infrastructure ever demanding of their social services. The Republican party has imploded after losing it's last three national election cycles. Feminists and their lobbies have increased employment quotas for women to a point where fifty percent of all job hirings must go to females regardless of their qualifications. Personal Liberty is no longer in existence. The country has been completely transformed into a service industry country with it's industrial base gone to foreign interests. The corporate tax rate is the highest among all the countries in the civilized world. The national debt is so high it soars well into the mega trillions and ever climbing.

Then a state announces that it has had enough and is seceding. The elitists running the federal empire in typical knee jerk fashion, orders it's military to invade the state immediately after the president federalizes it's national guard. State troopers under the order of the governor block the main highway entrances to the state but are quickly overwhelmed by the federal military. There are scores of desertions among the national guard units who refuse to take up arms against their families, their neighbors, their friends and their loved ones. Violence between the federal forces and the outraged citizens of the state erupts as several deaths occur and scores of citizens are injured. The federal military moves quickly to the state capital and federal marshals arrest the governor and the members of the state legislature. They are all placed in temporary detention cells then transferred to a federal penal facility where they are held as political prisoners.

An army of lawyers has lined up to defend the state's actions on constitutional grounds. The lawyers representing the seceded state demand due process for the governor and the members of the state legislature on charges of treason or otherwise, their immediate release. The elites of the federal authority refuse to budge either way. The world's cameras await the fed's next move as the greatest legal battle in american history ensues based on the decision of an over reaching national authority which is now the clear enemy of liberty being finally exposed by it's actions. Either way, the nationalist empire is locked in an inescapable trap of it's own doing as the constitutional, legal minds of the seceded state prepare to tare it completely to shreds. The president and his lackeys in the senate, a body of government that was destroyed by the seventeenth amendment as representative of the people in the states many decades before, a congress loaded with corrupt career politicians who made millions off the backs of the tax payers, all no longer have any place to hide. Their trial for treason is next up on the agenda following the release of all political prisoners.

You seem to be hoping for a sneak preview into the final scene of Ayn Rand's monumental classic and success story of her book Atlas Shrugged. Perhaps you could watch the final episode to the movie in the theatres this October to find out how living in a nation minus all of its capitalist movers and shakers would look like with just the leeches hanging around wondering who is going to babysit them and who is going to redistribute their monies and wares to them. Good opportunity for you cigar, for now you'll be able to rule over the wannabes and the losers.

I wouldn't miss the mid term elections for anything, considering we'll most likely be witnessing the end of the Democratic Party and the beginning of the taking back America from the socialist crowd. We'll also be witnessing the deportation of leftists from America to a third world nation somewhere in South/Central America where they'll be quite content to hook up with their counterparts under a leftist regime.

But then "they" wouldn't be sharing with everyone else their contributions for the betterment of society. They would be taking their money with them instead.

Now a leftist like you wouldn't like that at all, would you?

Everything I stated wasn't star wars material or far fetched, on the fringe, fear mongering, it's absolutely true. The measures I named are in existence right at this very minute and they are not exaggerated theories based on temporary conditions that wont last but rather natural extensions of each transpiring on their natural progression.

The government of these United States is out of control and does whatever it pleases, when it wants, how it wants, and the constitution and the people be damned. The president Obama has committed treason at every turn and is operating way outside of his own constitutional boundaries by not securing the borders of these United States, by imposing an unconstitutional healthcare measure on the people in the different states with a totalitarian penalty measure included against the citizens who do not comply with it and a declaration of it being a legitimate tax by one of his lackeys on the supreme court.

It is perfectly natural to assume that the last secession will be conducted by the great state of Texas in the meantime which has just the other day ordered it's national guard to the borders to secure such defying it's tyrannical and totalitarian federal government which refuses to uphold it's own federal laws placed upon the political border sanctions of the country.

Where I think your scenario breaks down is that it assumes the Federal government is still intact and functional at the time succession is initiated. I also don't think it takes into account the probability that more than one state would secede at the same time.
