Some CEO **** got sacked and the workers have refused to work or stock shelves. Love how Yanks can protest the firing of a CEO but not the CIA and NSA spying on them.

Welcome to Europe.

Thanks but I'm further confused -why is Cigar troll pimping this then? I would think he would be cheering over the canning of a CEO.

Simple ... because I wanted to Post a Thread abut a real Boycott that interest me and I didn't need anyones permission to do it.

Those who don't like the Thread are free to click on any another Thread that interest them.

Apparently, shares in the corporation are either owned by members of the Demoulas family, or in trusts controlled by members of the family. The company is worth a boatload of money, and most of the family wants to sell their shares. The ex-CEO didn't want to sell, and the sales couldn't happen while he was in charge, and could influence the board. So, they ousted him, and now will be able to sell their shares.

I guess the workers liked him better than they like the folks who gave him the boot so they could sell the company. It makes sense the workers would like the guy who cared about the company, since that helps them.

I don't understand, I post a thread about store that is visually obvious that a Boycott is under way.

Why is that a problem for someone?

Is someone here personally involved or affected by this Boycott?

It's a story about an Employee Boycott ... what is your personal protest about the Thread?

lol, play on MacDuff we all know you knew absolute fuck all on the subject or you would have answered her question. No one has a problem with threads about boycotts. People have a problem with an OP knowing nothing about his own post.

despite the provenance of the thread, this is a pretty interesting story

family owned company, bad blood, boardroom intrigue

basically one cousin got control of the board, shitcanned the other cousin who was ceo, and the majority of the people who work there (non-union) have basically gone on strike to bring back the deposed ceo. they've had rallies attended b thousands of employees and customers

google demoulas market basket for better details

Except when it's not. They could have been boycotting the food, the working conditions, the lack of benefits, but they weren't. They were boycotting the firing of the CEO cos it could split up the company.

The pictures told shit.

Other stores try to meet demand during Market Basket boycott
Customers have been supporting them as well by boycotting the store. Now, other area grocery stores are having a hard time keeping up as their stores see more business.
From the start of the protests, customers have been right there with Market Basket employees and have refused to shop at the store. They have turned to many other supermarkets in the area.
Many stores have seen an increase of new customers, and it has become a challenge to serve them all.
“(It’s) very upsetting. We have no customers in our store. Just the employees walking around doing nothing,” said Tiffany Brencher, a Market Basket employee.
