President Obama appealed for "peace and calm" Thursday and said there is no excuse for excessive use of force by police in a St. Louis suburb against crowds protesting the death of an unarmed black teenager shot by a white police officer. At the same time, he said there was no excuse for violence against police.
Obama, who was speaking from Martha's Vineyard where his family is vacationing, said he was updated on the events in Ferguson by Attorney General Eric Holder, and the federal government will work with local authorities to see that "justice is done."

Problem solved! Thanks Barry! Glad you were able to take time out from your golf game!

Should he have cheered on the violence or something? I don't understand the issue.

They're not listening to him anyway. No one does anymore.

He should have kept his mouth shut. He certainly should not have said there was no reason for excessive force by the police. By saying that he is implying there is excessive force. All he is doing is fanning the flames. He is like the ABC news segment last night when the reporter exclaimed "Where the unarmed teenager was gunned down by the police two days before he was going to start college". That's an inflammatory statement and its also false. He was not "gunned down" and he wasn't going to start college, he was going to apply at a technical school. Big difference.

This isn't going to end until the police officer in question is publicly executed on the courthouse steps.

Funny. so they have turned security over to the highway patrol. Does anyone think it's going to make a difference? I don't.

As I said, do you think having the highway patrol in for crowd control is going to be any different? The same tactics by the police have been used world wide for crowd control.

I would defend myself. But then, I wouldn't have provoked the response in the first place by showing up in tanks dressed in military-style garb and weapons, either.

Funny how our resident constitutionalists are so supportive of turning America into a North Korea-style dictatorship.

I thought America was supposed to be different and exceptional?
