Until After November Elections
http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/immigration-border-crisis/obama-delay-immigration-action-until-after-november-elections-n197306
President Barack Obama will wait until after the November midterm elections to announce any action on immigration reform, but pledged to move on the contentious issue before the end of the year, according to a White House official.
The announcement Saturday reverses a statement Obama made in June when he ordered his team to suggest executive actions (http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/obama-blaming-congress-says-hell-go-it-alone-immigration-n144656) he could take to stem deportations by the end of the summer.
Obama believes establishing comprehensive immigration reform in the middle of an election season would be "harmful" to the effort of creating a sustainable policy "because of the Republicans' extreme politicization of this issue," the official said.

Administration back tracks on immigration reform (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_OBAMA_IMMIGRATION?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2014-09-06-09-51-02)- not by the end of summer as promised, but after the elections. When both the executive and legislative branches are lame ducks.
Abandoning his pledge to act by the end of summer, President Barack Obama has decided to delay any executive action on immigration until after the November congressional elections, White House officials said.
The move instantly infuriated immigration advocates while offering relief to some vulnerable Democrats in tough Senate re-election contests.

Maybe it's because his hair is greying, or he's on the golf course a lot, but Obama looks darker to me and very, very drawn and tired looking. They say the job ages them, boy looking at him, they weren't kidding.

In 2009 with Obama's election and the Democrats having virtually as super majority in Congress, he promised action in his first year, they passed the Stimulus bill without a single Republican vote. They could have done the same with an Immigration Bill but didn't, the Latino's got the ozone. The second year of the Democrat super majority, they didn't even try as far as I know. They waited till they lost the House decisively in the 2010 midterm to re-introduce S. 1258 (112th): Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2011 ay year later. This bill was tried before in 2007 and failed. Why would the Democrats wait till they lost their super majority to try the bill again? They could have done it in 2009 or 2010 and passed it easily like they did the Stimulus without a single Republican vote. Why didn't they? Looking at it objectively, it appears they never had any intention of passing the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act or why would they have waited till the Republicans gained control of the House and could stop it? Obama will NOT take executive action after the November election. They need to be able to blame Republicans for stopping amnesty all they way through the 2016 general election.

Most of this is politics. Republicans don't kill abortion when they have the chance. Dems won't legalize illegals when they have the chance. It is all about having red meat for the base. While both parties work together to increase government step by step. And the sheeple don't notice it. We have our partisans here:
The GOP is anti US....
The Dems are anti US....
Guess what people. Both parties are.

I agree ... I would have said fuck congress long time ago.
Buy the best change in immigration can only come in a full government press from Democrats. They need both chambers and the Presidency, because The GOP will alway fight against Immigration Reform because by large they will only lose more elections.
It's just a matter of time, but Republicans will soon be extinct.

I went back and looked you are correct. It was the one passed by the "Gang of 8." It was passed in a pretty bipartisan manner of 68-32...........I am in agreement with you on this one. Amend the bill and send it back.

I don't believe either party is gonna do much of nuttin about immigration. Its an issue that they can yell about and blame on the other guy...and keep the electorate riled up. Any realistic solution would make too many people unhappy (and lose votes) because it will involve that dirty word, compromise.

the dems want no limits on immigration.

Americans Now Favor GOP on Immigration — WSJ/NBC Poll
By Laura Meckler
http://si.wsj.net/public/resources/images/BN-EL637_NEWimm_G_20140909141132.jpg
WASHINGTON—Americans are now more likely to trust Republicans to handle immigration, and less likely to support legislation backed by most Democrats giving illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds.
These shifts in public opinion come in the wake of a spring and summer surge in Central American children illegally crossing the southwest border.
