Excellent article in the Washington Post Opinions page, by law professor (George Washington University) Jonathan Turley, regarding the assault on free speech. He maintains that our cherished First Amendment right is being eroded (if not eradicated) by extortion. From those who say "if you say something against us, we'll make trouble for you." And the repeated misbehavior by them in response to speech they don't like.

In my view, it is precisely when this type of hardball is played, that we should be exercising our free speech rights the most, and saying just what it is that they are intolerant of. And saying it loud, and clear, and often.

Isn't it interesting how the left including bill Clinton and Obama have gone after Rush Limbaugh to initiate the Fairness Doctrine that would if enacted shut down Rush's radio show, and the left also pushes to prevent schools from allowing prayer, or prevent certain government buildings to have the Ten Commandments displayed in front. We also see the push of the Left's run ACLU to take down numerous Christian crosses across the nation. Heaven forbid someone use a racial slur or to say Merry Christmas to someone without having the P.C. police jump on their case.

All interesting points. Interesting and excellent. And many more examples could be added. Like the attempts of some Muslim Brotherhood front groups recently trying to get Obama to ban the free speech of anyone criticizing Islam. And the longtime efforts of the OIC to get the UN to adopt the "Istanbul Process" (banning of speech critical of Islam)

AMJA. Yeah, You Do Need To Know Who They Are. The enablers of radical Islam in government, academia and the media regularly dismiss protectionists' warnings. They have either never heard of, don’t want to know about, or don’t want you to know about, the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA).

When you read the eye-popping column below, posted by Andrew Bostom, you’ll be reminded why the willful blindness of the enablers of radical Islam are so dangerous.

We should take little comfort in the ruling of an AMJA jurist (quoted below), who writes (referring to the Muslim community in America): “The Islamic community does not possess the strength to engage in offensive jihad at this time.”

As Translating Jihad notes in his introductory summary of the newly translated 2007 AMJA paper, it :

"…provides guidelines for American Muslims on what they can and cannot do vis-à-vis infidel legal systems. The paper makes clear that according to Islam, the only legitimate law is that which comes from Allah, and in fact authority to make laws rests with Allah alone. This renders every other legal system—including the American system—illegitimate."

The left does not believe in the First Amendment and never did. The First Amendment allows people to say what they think, and every leftist government that ever existed considered that to be a threat and created secret police to drag people off and torture them for saying what they think.
