The White House on Thursday angrily denounced a bloody overnight raid (http://news.yahoo.com/student-terror-syria-forces-raid-aleppo-university-173922988.html)on Aleppo University (http://news.yahoo.com/student-terror-syria-forces-raid-aleppo-university-173922988.html)by Syrian troops (http://news.yahoo.com/student-terror-syria-forces-raid-aleppo-university-173922988.html), and warned that it may soon be time for the world to "admit defeat" in its current strategy to drive President Bashar al-Assad's regime to halt a deadly yearlong crackdown on opposition to his regime.

"If the regime's intransigence continues, the international community is going to have to admit defeat and work to address the serious threat to peace and stability being perpetrated by the Assad regime" via the U.N. Security Council or the ad-hoc "Friends of Syria" group of countries, said spokesman Jay Carney......snip~

With Obama screwing up with Afghanistan and Pakistan. This will now be added to the Mix. Notice how they said the World and not just the US, who is leading the Charge. We have no buisness getting involved into Syria. Clinton has already admitted our Involvement in Assisting the Rebels to evade Capture.

Again I don't have a dog in the fight. Plus with what the Sunni Led Governments get away with in the M.E......I don't have one Iota of Sympathy for them. :undecided:

It would be nice to get Syria out of Iran's sphere of influence; but not worth the costs of overt war all things considered.

Truly Pete I think they may be aligned and have some common beliefs or interests. Syria and Iran. For some reason I just don't see Assad kow-towing to the Iranians. Nor the Khamenie.

Assad is a great ally to Iran. Probably the only ally that Iran has in the ME.

Allies don't have to bow, regardless of what you have learned from Obama.

Well being in martial arts for over 50 years giving a slight head bow to another Warrior.....I never did see as any weakness. Now on the other hand the only thing I can learn from Obama, is how not to be the Most Powerful Leader on the Planet.

Nor do allies have to fully support each other.

Power is relative, if everyone KNOWS your not going to flex your power (no matter how great that power is) then of course everyone will not repect your power, but of course, everyone knows the US isn't willing to flex their power much these days. and I think it is pretty fair to say that Obama has a rather small part of the blame in that.
