She's the director of those Twilight movies and her husband is in Kick Ass. They are 22 years apart.

We are used to seeing this stuff and don't think anything about it

I am a few years older than my SO and it bothers me because I like everything orderly and people to be the same age. Usually I hate the idea of older men buying younger women (and them allowing themselves to be bought). When you see them in public (or I did in NYC) the wife was like a beautiful child and there was a rather sick element to it.

So when the Demi Moores of this world started dating/marrying younger men at first I was like, You go girl!

But I dunno...I'm not telling anyone what to do in their own life, but personally not sure I could date a guy who people would look at and think is my son.

Thoughts?

A friend of mine was dating a fella about 25 years younger than she was. I asked her what did they talk about....her remark....'talk?' I wouldn't feel comfortable with a partner who didn't know who Capt Bob & Peanut Galley was....just me.

My wife is 2 years older than me, it was never an issue at any point with anyone.

Here's the thing though, you never see a really young, wealthy, successful, etc. person with an old nobody, it's always the other way around.

One of those funny "rule of thumbs".

I think once we get to be a certain age, that age doesn't matter in relationships. I do think we have to be okay with age differences. Also, we may have to be alright spending ten or more years alone if a spouse or SO is that much older than us. Then again, some go before their time. I am pretty sure I am outliving my spouse because of longevity in the blood. Grandparents are ninety and still kicking.

I never, ever did date anyone younger than me that I remember, but I was also young when I got married. I think it would be okay though. Older men-totally fine too. But seriously it would be hard to be attracted to an old man like Donald Trump, but hey, maybe he has a great personality

I'm 6 1/2 years older than my husband. I thought he was older than me when we met. I don't look my age and he looks older because he's grey. He was grey in his twenties.

After my divorce I briefly dated a co-worker 14 years younger. Too much difference at that age (40-26)
We had nothing in common. All he talked about was softball.

I was raised to have the man taller, the man older, but as I matured I began to realize there are no set rules. If there is a mutual attraction, who cares what others think.

When I was in my twenties, anyone over 45 have sex was "yucky". Our parents having sex? Of course not!

If you have the desire and physical ability, enjoy yourself. There are no age limits.

My cute widowed mom is 90 and in a senior residence. A gentleman at her dinner table has a crush on her. He tweaks her nose, cuts her meat and veggies. She's not interested in a relationship, but as a friend she's OK with that. He's 77. Mom looks great, petite, in shape, blond pixie hairdo, mentally sharp, but her eyesight is failing.

My first wife dumped our marriage to marry this young guy. Problem is, I was not really that old at the time. I was just about 39 and she was 36. She took up with a then 23 year old guy that to her was a stud muffin.

Today she has Alzheimer's. When her problem showed up, he bailed out on her. She is in some hospice type place unable to talk. He is out having fun.

A young guy may be your SO but he also has the pick of the flock of the young and beautiful girls.

Bob, you say "a young guy may be your SO but he also has the pick of the flock of the young and beautiful girls". That may be true if he is looking just for sex, many of the young ones are airheads, and not really serious about a relationship. That can happen in any relationship, if someone has a roving eye, or is a player, the relationship is on shaky ground.
If that's the case, who needs him.

We had a couple we socialized with years ago. They were the same age 38, but he was a big guy, 6' about 190, she was 4'10" and weighed 85 lbs. looked like a kid, shapeless, until you saw her face. We never thought anything of it, no reason to. Then one day he made a comment that he married her because "he likes that pre-pubescent look". You could have heard a pin drop. Creeped me out. After that they dropped off our radar.

Elizabeth Taylor, the actress, said men are sexiest in their mid-thirties. Most of her 7 hubbies were that age when she married them. Older, they start to get problems, younger, they're too immature, barely weened. I would agree with that. A 20 year old girl is much maturer than a 20 year old man.

Also, men that age are usually financially established, women look for security as well as love.

Do you really think Trump would get a beautiful young woman like that if he wasn't filthy rich?

Animal Mother is a character in Full Metal Jacket. We started calling <him> "Animal Mother" because he's a psychopath in a firefight, and well, just in general but will risk his fucking life for any single one of his brothers.

Someone remarked that Donald Trump was not very attractive & was kinda short...until he stood on his wallet. I'm sure those beautiful 20 year old women would love him even without the $$$....right?

More or less. I think the 10 year both ways rule is a good one. Provided that the younger party is at least 18.

I'm 25, and I'd date a 35 year old as quick as an 18 year old, it all depends on the person.

I do think anything over 10-12 years or so is tough, not because it can't work in the moment, but because it's really not fair to the young party if they're changing the other persons diapers when they're only like 50 or so, lol, provided that the relationship has long term aspirations.

I can't speak for all young women but they are out there. Usually it is the man lying about his age to a young girl. I had one girlfriend at about 40 who sold me on the idea she was in her mid 20s. When we met, she appeared to be that old. We were having dinner when she blurts out, I am not quite 21. Still it was easy to get her drinks. Days later again at dinner, she says, i am not quite 20. Turns out she was 18. Her mom, per the girl approved of dating me. I owned my own business and had money. However some young stud spotted her in the apartment complex she was doing laundry at and took her over.

I have enjoyed on Discovery a gun program called Sons of Guns. Today I learn that Will, the boss man, loves them young too. He was arrested for raping a 12 year old (over and over). I heard today on Dr. Phil his daughter who also stars in the show plans to help convict her father. I suspect she had sex with him too.

I almost forgot about this one very young girl but she was stunning. So beautiful a lot of men would tag that. Not me of course. She hung around with a woman I knew and it is my impression she was a poor influence on the very young girl. I think she could have been maybe 13-14. She also was very aggressive towards men and was fond of acting like she was ready for sex. I think over that one girl, I stopped visiting the woman. I was not the woman's boyfriend either. We just enjoyed chatting with each other. OH, at the time i was in my early 40s I believe.

I suppose there are those, male and female into "sport f'inf". That was never my style. Also, men who liked that were a major turn off for me. I had too much respect for myself. There is nothing sexy about a guy that can't keep his pants closed. Hell, I want to know where that thing has been.

See you are so smart. That along with other things is why I like you.

It is not a good way for men to be. It leads to having women who are the same. Trust is a no deal.

Thoughts?

I probably couldn't marry a woman older than me- although I have dated plenty. My ex- was 10 years younger. That seemed about right. I couldn't go younger than that, because then you get into crazy terrain- in general. Funny, I did date one girl who actually was my age, but she look very young, and when we were out people looked like they wanted to kill me. And we were not even PDA.

We had a crew of Navy civil affairs people attached to my unit on my last deployment and they were scared witless. The women - I never saw asses so big... I stayed away- outside of my job as a foriegn claims officer. Navy. Not for me.

None of them ever went with me outside the gate. It was just me, my NCOIC and the finance weenie. He carried the cash. I never touched it- to not be accused of stealing cash. We had a gun truck follow us when tensions were high. But the locals loved me because I paid all reasonable claims. And when I denied claims they understood- because they were bull shit claims. One guy joked- you should pay my claim because I was asking for less than those other guys trying to screw you... Ha. No.

Twenty years is too much - then you're old enough to be her father and unless she was raised in seclusion with only older people for companions, you will have very little in common. All of your references will be historical as opposed to contemporary.

AL my first wife was 6 years older than me, And other that the fact that she could not live with the fact that I might come home in a box, we have a very good relationship and we are still very good friends today.

My Angle is nearly 9 years my younger. and we have a great relationship, now that I stop pretending to be someone that I am not, and have returned to the person that she fell in love with.

So 2 years is nothing. And beside each year? Technically you are closer to the same age.

Well, my beloved wife is 11 years my junior. If, God forbid, anything happens to her, if I ever dated again, it'd most likely be someone younger.

When I was 18, I had an affair with a woman who was 55, although she didn't look it. Or, at least, I didn't think she did. :)

If she was that sexualized at 13-14, she was almost certainly molested for a period of months, if not years.

CreepyOldDude
09-12-2014, 05:12 PM
We had a couple we socialized with years ago. They were the same age 38, but he was a big guy, 6' about 190, she was 4'10" and weighed 85 lbs. looked like a kid, shapeless, until you saw her face. We never thought anything of it, no reason to. Then one day he made a comment that he married her because "he likes that pre-pubescent look". You could have heard a pin drop. Creeped me out. After that they dropped off our radar.

When I was in college, I met a Vietnamese kid. He was the same age I was, and in most of my classes. We got to be friends, and I met his sister. She looked like an 11 year old girl, but was two years older than me. I wasn't interested in her at first, but the more I got to know her, the closer we got. We ended up dating for two years.

One time, we were parked off a country road, having some fun, when a cop pulled up behind us. He hit his flashers and siren for a second, to let us know he was there, then gave us a couple of minutes to get dressed. Then he came up beside the car. When he saw her tucking her shirt in, he had me out of the car, in cuffs, and in the back of his cruiser, with a few "accidental" bruises, before she could dig out her ID, and prove she was in her 20s. The cop let me go, and apologized. I accepted. I mean, he thought I'd been molesting a kid. Which wasn't as big a deal back then, but it'd get you some bruises.

The trouble was, things like that kept happening. It didn't help that, when I was 18, I looked 30, because my hair had grey streaks. After two years, we broke up. No animosity, it was an amiable split.

I bumped into her yesterday, on my way home from work. I stopped to pick up some groceries, and she was there. Damned if she doesn't still look like she's a little girl, and she's in her 70s.

My wife is 2 years older than me, it was never an issue at any point with anyone.

Here's the thing though, you never see a really young, wealthy, successful, etc. person with an old nobody, it's always the other way around.

One of those funny "rule of thumbs".

I keep going for older men the more I date. First relationship... the man was 2 years older... the next 4...now...6. Apparently the older men are better. :)

As to your second comment. You rarely even see older successful and wealthy men with women their own age...let alone older. Apparently wealthy and successful = shallow.

I dated a girl in law school who was like that. Everyone outside of school thought that I was a pedo. And she is one year older than me!

Not sure who or what you are talking about? "Negro"? Rather antiquated term for Marines that don't need paint.

Old story. Let's put it to bed and keep it there.

You talking about me, or something that happened? Best I can tell I got y'all by about 25 yeats. Doesn't mean you need to call me old. I'm in my f-ing prime. :D
