They have moved onto Gettysburg. We should do a staff ride there and see if we can sneak in after dark and hang out over night.

Im for it. Fredericksburg battlefield is easier to break into at night. :)

Just got back from A weekend at the Queen Mary. The Ghost Encounters Tour and Dark Harbor was a BLAST!

Maybe 1/3 the ship is inaccessible unless you take the tour. These area are kept locked off, but the rest of the ship is gorgeous!
Art Deco, wood carvings, Murals, Ballrooms, it was awesome. Our stateroom even had Hot/Cold Salt water for the bath. The 5 Star restaurant was top of the line!

Just got back from A weekend at the Queen Mary. The Ghost Encounters Tour and Dark Harbor was a BLAST!

It is too bad they removed the Spruce Goose from next to the Queen Mary. I always enjoy the Queen Mary when at Long Beach. It still amazes me the ship looks so huge. I was on the Air Craft Carrier Nimitz one time after before being on the Queen Mary and it has to be the superstructure of the Queen Mary making me think it is the larger ship. But the Nimitz is longer.

For those that did not yet know about the Spruce Goose, that is a giant airplane. And it was taken to Oregon.

I was able to tour the Spruce Goose at Long Beach and get into the cockpit area. This still is an amazing enormous airplane.

The Queen Mary is a remarkable ship. It amazes me England allowed it to escape their country. They have more than one tour of the ship. It takes a lot of time to see it properly so plan accordingly.

I am so jealous of Mom's apple Pie that she had dinner on that ship. LOL

I highly recommend a stay and Dinner at Sir Winston's.
