Ferguson Protesters Plan Marches to Mark Michael Brown Shooting

A weekend of events intended to mark two months since the fatal police shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, took on added uneasiness Thursday in the wake of the fatal police shooting of another African-American teenager in nearby St. Louis (http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/protests-erupt-after-st-louis-police-officer-fatally-shoots-teen-n221811).

The events, which began with a vigil Thursday evening, were intended to peacefully but "forcefully proclaim that our lives matter," organizers said in an open letter to the community (http://www.stlamerican.com/news/editorials/article_9ed64450-4f5c-11e4-adbf-ff7139d54a4c.html). "Ferguson is everywhere," a leader said on the organizers' website (http://fergusonoctober.com/killing-vonderritt-myers/). "Enough is enough."

City officials and police say they are bracing for the possibility of rioting through the weekend.

The kid had a gun and shot at the off duty officer. you shoot at a cop, they're going to shoot back. So goes the story of another thug death.

I don't expect a crook to have much concern about firing weapons around innocent people, but the cop fired 17 times in a populated area. That is excessive and extremely poor shooting. If they want to defend themselves, they really should know how to use a gun.
