Remember a couple years ago how President Barack Obama had eighty million czars (http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2014/jun/25/chain-email/obama-appointed-45-czars-replace-elected-officials/) and it was bad because Czars = Russia?

Well czars are good now. :smiley_ROFLMAO:

Senator John McCain (R-AZ) told State of the Union host Candy Crowley Sunday morning. “There has to be more reassurance given to them. I would say that we don’t know exactly who’s in charge. There has to be some kind of czar.”

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/john-mccain-u-s-needs-an-ebola-czar/

So what you're saying, John, is that we need a physician commissioned by the government and entrusted with public health responsibilities? Maybe someone who could head up a corps of medical officers who are on call 24 hours a day and prepared to be dispatched in the event of a public health emergency. A general of surgeons, one might say. Heck, John, lets just call him/her the Surgeon General of the United States.

Why don't we have an Ebola 'czar,' Sen. McCain? Because of the NRA (http://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-mh-because-of-the-nra-20141012-column.html).

My apologies if this gets any panties inflamed with a rash

Rather than another czar what we need is one less half American dictator.

as long as obumer is making the decisions they are sure to be wrong.

Not suprisingly, you’re going the same way as the UK. At the moment, 2014, we have 1162 unelected ‘Quango’s’ in a country of about 63m. The term means quasi autonomous non-government organisations and each is led by someone referred to as a Czar (leader). You’ll have a Czar Minister for the gays, Criminal Justice System, Health and Safety, disabled . . . you name it; they’re government advising bodies. It’s a sign of progressivism, you need a hierarchy of advisors and ‘experts’. I suppose it’s like America having lobbyists as part of the government and funded by the tax payer.

“Every quango in Britain
Did you know there are nearly 1,200 unelected bodies with power over our lives? This is the full list, complete with number of staff and how much they cost.”

why don't we have an ebola 'czar,' sen. Mccain? because of the nra (http://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-mh-because-of-the-nra-20141012-column.html).

At the moment, we don't have a surgeon general.
And for that, blame belongs to the fourth branch of government, the national rifle assn.
The nra has put the kibosh on dr. Vivek murthy, whom president obama nominated to the post last november, after the resignation of surgeon gen. Regina benjamin.

The nra's complaint was that murthy called guns "a health care issue" in a 2012 tweet.

It's worth noting that the tweet came out almost two months, to the day, before the sandy hook elementary school massacre, in which adam lanza's gunfire took the lives of 20 children and six adults.
One might take murthy's comment as, if anything, a grotesque understatement.

The nra's position sealed the opposition to murthy's confirmation among senate republicans and red-state democrats.
The appointment has been hanging in limbo ever since.

During his tv appearance sunday, did mccain call for action on murthy's nomination?
No. It never came up.

Can any rational person really disagree that guns are a healthcare issue (http://billmoyers.com/2014/03/23/why-the-nra-is-blocking-obama’s-surgeon-general-nominee/)?
In the average year, nearly 32,000 people die from gunshots (http://www.bradycampaign.org/sites/default/files/gun-death-and-injury-stat-sheet-5-year-average.pdf) in the u.s.
And another 75,000 are injured.

Number of deaths from ebola in the u.s.: One.

Sen. Mccain's home state of arizona, where he says his constituents are "not comforted" about ebola, boasts the eighth-highest rate of deaths by firearms (http://kff.org/other/state-indicator/firearms-death-rate-per-100000/) in the nation, 14.6 per 100,000 residents.

Number of arizona deaths from ebola, per 100,000: Zero.

Back to that Budget

Consider again how The Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/12/ebola-vaccine_n_5974148.html) parroted Collins’ claims:

Money, or rather the lack of it, is a big part of the problem. NIH’s purchasing power is down 23 percent from what it was a decade ago, and its budget has remained almost static. In fiscal year 2004, the agency’s budget was $28.03 billion. In FY 2013, it was $29.31 billion—barely a change, even before adjusting for inflation.

Of course, between the fiscal years 2000 and 2004, NIH’s budget jumped a whopping 58 percent (http://officeofbudget.od.nih.gov/pdfs/FY15/Mechanism Detail for Total NIH FY 2000 - FY 2013-Publish.pdf). HHS’s 70,000 workers will spend a total of $958 billion this year (http://www.downsizinggovernment.org/health-and-human-services), or about $7,789 for every U.S. household. A 2012 report on federal spending including the following nuggets about how NIH spends (http://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/nows-time-start-cutting-wasteful-government-programs) its supposedly tight funds:

a $702,558 grant for the study of the impact of televisions and gas generators on villages in Vietnam.
$175,587 to the University of Kentucky to study the impact of cocaine on the sex drive of Japanese quail.
$55,382 to study hookah smoking in Jordan.
$592,527 to study why chimpanzees throw objects.
Last year there were news reports about a $509,840 grant from NIH to pay for a study that will send text messages in “gay lingo” to meth-heads (http://cnsnews.com/news/article/509k-federal-safe-sex-study-will-text-gay-lingo-meth-addicts). There are many other shake-your-head examples (http://www.redstate.com/2014/10/13/fat-lesbians-got-all-the-ebola-dollars-but-blame-the-gop/) of misguided spending that are easy to find.

And we’re not even getting into the problems at the CDC (http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2014/10/13/ebola-cdc-fears-trust-secret-service-prostitutes-column/17152653/) or the confusing mixed messages on Ebola from the administration (http://freebeacon.com/columns/the-case-for-panic/). CDC director Tom Frieden noted:

We need a czar to protect us against the infected Africans who keep coming here. Nobody asked Africans to come to America.

Obama and Nancy Pelosi did. I think maybe Elizabeth Warren and Rachel Maddow had a hand in it, too. They're colluding with AQ to kill us all.

Remember, Obama is a Muslim.

16 Members of Doctors Without Borders Infected with Ebola, Nine DeadJOHANNESBURG (AP) — International aid organization Doctors Without Borders said that 16 of its staff members have been infected with Ebola and nine of them have died.

Speaking at a press conference in Johannesburg Tuesday, the head of Doctors Without Borders in South Africa Sharon Ekambaram said medical workers have received inadequate assistance from the international community.

"Where is WHO Africa? Where is the African Union?" said Ekambaram who worked in Sierra Leone from August to September. "We've all heard their promises in the media but have seen very little on the ground."

Four of the organization's medical workers who had just returned from Sierra Leone and Liberia said they were frustrated, "chasing after the curve of the outbreak," according to Jens Pederson, the aid organization's humanitarian affairs adviser.
