Been to St. Elmo. Cool little town! and the buildings are kept in pretty good repair. The stone school house burnt down in the past and they are using proceeds to rebuild it. The walls are still standing but of course are scorched and have to be torn down and rebuilt. Several of the main road stores you can still walk thru with the original furnishings in place.

I've also been to Guanajuato. THAT was eerie. Most of those mummies still had their hair, nails, teeth, etc. Back when I went in the 70's they were still building the exhibits, and many of the mummies were still laid out on tables for display. They had not been encased behind the glass yet. Some had expressions that were serene, but many had horrifying features as if they had been buried alive.

Saw some of that in Europe, very creepy. I remember thinking these were once people, living, breathing, feeling.
