Maryland to delay legal effort to recoup $55 million for state's failed ObamaCare site

Published October 19, 2014 | FoxNews.com

Maryland officials reportedly have agreed to delay court action seeking $55 million from the primary contractor for the state’s problematic ObamaCare website.

Officials from Maryland’s health care exchange in April fired the contractor, Noridian Healthcare Solutions, and vowed to seek court actions to recoup the money.

Both sides have struck a temporary deal so state officials can focus on the second year of ObamaCare enrollment that starts Nov. 15, according to The Baltimore Sun.

The decision to delay action also came amid an ongoing inspector general’s probe, which was requested in February by Maryland GOP Rep. Andy Harris.

"Millions of dollars were wasted because of a lack of oversight by Lieutenant Governor Brown, and now the state must try to recoup some of the money he allowed to be sent to companies who couldn't deliver," Harris told The Sun. "The federal investigation should provide critical information about how taxpayer dollars were wasted and whether fraud occurred."

I didn't know they had earthquakes in Maryland? They must because they are following California's earthquake advice....."Drop, Cover, and Hold On". The state of Maryland wasted $55 million of the taxpayers money with Lieutenant Governor Brown like Joe Biden charged with oversight on the trillion dollar stimulus dropped the ball. Now it seems they are doing a "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" by delaying action on getting the taxpayers money back because it politically inconvenient? Rep. Andy Harris has called for a full blown Federal Investigation. However with the Obama/Holder Department of Injustice in place, it being a Democrat run state AND the guy in charge of the failed oversight of the exchange website running for Governor, I think that's just another investigation that will get buried in the backyard.

Considering Maryland ranks 11th in taxes, they should be upset about a $55 million dollar waste. They can do something about it Nov 4th. Lieutenant Governor Brown who was in charge of the failed oversight on the website now wants to be in charge of the whole state. If he can't manage the oversight of the development of a website, what are his chances of manage the whole state properly? If you vote for him......good luck!

Millions of dollars were wasted because of a lack of oversight by Lieutenant Governor Brown,

Brown should be billed for the lost millions that his incompetence is responsible for.

He should be drummed out of the race.

I really think the state should hold brown accountable for at least a share of the money.

take his entire net worth and call it even.
