DNC Chairwoman Evades Questions About Obama

Oct 22, 2014 8:07 AM EDT

by Alison Elkin

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Wednesday refused to associate Democratic Senate candidates with President Barack Obama's policies.

The issue has become a hot potato for Democrats in the closing weeks of the midterm elections as they try to keep Senate seats in several red states where Obama is unpopular and, with those seats, control of the chamber.

“Barack Obama was on the ballot in 2012 and 2008,” Wasserman Schultz said.

“These are all folks who vote with me,” Obama said. “They have have supported my agenda in Congress.”

http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2014-10-22/dnc-chairwoman-evades-questions-about-obama]

Even Blabbermouth Schultz invokes her Miranda right to remain silent.

“These are all folks who vote with me,” Obama said. “They have have supported my agenda in Congress.”

The President is correct, they did vote with him and supported his agenda. In one case Kay Hagan (D), has voted with President Obama 96 percent of the time while representing a state where President Obama has a 55 percent disapproval rating. (http://www.forbes.com/sites/patrickgleason/2014/10/14/hagan-fibs/)

Make no mistake about it, I don't believe there are any Moderate Democrats in Congress. Not when their records show they voted along Party lines so often.

Kay Hagan (D) Voted with the Party 96%
Wasserman Schultz (D) Voted with the Party 94%
Jeanne Shaheen (D) Voted with the Party 97%
Bruce Braley (D) Voted with the Party 90%
Mark Udall (D) Voted with the Party 98%
Mark Begich (D) Voted with the Party 94%
Mary Landrieu (D) Voted with the Party 94%
John Walsh (D) Voted with the Party 94%
Al Franken (D) Voted with the Party 100%
Jeff Merkley (D) Voted with the Party 95%

Democrats in red and purple toss up states have clammed up and refuse to talk about voting for Obama and his agenda. They pop off like Shultzy with what they think are clever non committal one liner's like “Barack Obama was on the ballot in 2012 and 2008”. C'mon Debbie you and your fellow Democrats got some splainin to do. Anyone that won't talk about it doesn't deserve your vote.

Nobody should be surprised that Democrats are going to keep arms length from the O'bama for a number of reasons.

They won't slam the door but they're not staying in the same room.

This has been discussed even on liberal rags.

@Green Arrow (http://thepoliticalforums.com/member.php?u=868); though I have not looked up his voting record, isn't it true he voted for the ACA which is a direct violation of civil liberties?

But Gardner manages to come across as different from the dislikable pack: the consummate guy-next-door, you’d-have-a-beer-with-him politician. A photogenic 40-year-old with two young kids, Gardner approaches every volunteer at a meet-and-greet here in suburban Denver with a smile and a backslap and the enthusiastic air of someone who treats every stranger as a friend. The Denver Post endorsed the him (http://www.denverpost.com/portal/endorsements/ci_26701817/cory-gardner-u-s-senate?_loopback=1) last week in the state's U.S. Senate contest, in large part because he is running a positive campaign based on personal attributes, and his opponent, Democratic incumbent Mark Udall, is not. Udall is running a race so negative that at a debate in Denver last week, a Denver Post political reporter referred to him as “Mark Uterus” because so many of his ads target Gardner’s opposition to abortion.

The Democrats are running, but President Obama won’t let them hide

By Ed Rogers October 21

Anyway, the president, who is fully aware that Democratic candidates like Kay Hagan in North Carolina, Mark Pryor in Arkansas, Mark Begich in Alaska and Alison Lundergan Grimes in Kentucky – to name a few – have been running from him, can’t suppress his instinct to let voters know that they are all loyal followers of his. While the incumbent Democrats – most of whom have voted with him almost all the time, try to claim their independence, the president is actually the one calling them out and telling the truth. Democrats are going to have a hard time hiding behind their phony images for much longer, because President Obama has made it clear that most every Democrat running for office in 2014 will be pretty much in lockstep with the liberal Democratic leadership.

No, it doesn't. Obamacare is bad for a whole different set of reasons. Civil liberties are harmed by stuff like the PATRIOT Act, FISA, PRISM, the seizing of reporter emails, indefinite military detention of American citizens without trial allowed by the NDAA, stop and frisk, militarization of police, etc.

Exactly. Many now denying their support of failed Obama policies. Many still get a little edgy in here when there are those of us who can see that it waddles like a f'n duck...... and it quacks exactly like a f'n duck, so then we Conservatives appropriately and correctly conclude f'n duck.

Now..... we do have some wolves in sheep's clothing in here. But it's to shear and slaughter sheepish arguments and distortion.

Again Pete, he was speaking to and I quote....' Independents' who post on this forum....... who have obviously become much more 'independent' as it gets much much harder to defend this President and his incompetent party.

Poll: Republican Advantage Solidifies, Voters More Positive About GOP Campaigns

By Carrie Dann

With just nine days to go until Election Day, Republicans' national lead appears to be crystallizing, with voters still preferring a GOP-led Congress and viewing Republican campaigns significantly less negatively than those of Democrats.

According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Annenberg poll, a majority of likely voters - 52 percent - say they would like to see Capitol Hill controlled by Republicans, compared to 41 percent who favor the president's party.
