When a patrol officer gets a code and a voice explanation of what hes to look for, do you believe that should be colorless ? for example.

A crime was just committed in an area and a code goes out to all police to Look for WHITE MALE with long blonde hair wearing pink panties and a bra.

Is it profiling to say WHITE MALE with LONG BLONDE HAIR, now reverse that is it still profiling.
Without verbal descriptions the police cant find anyone or anything.

Devil's advocate question: If I am walking in a bad neighborhood at night and statistics show that groups of black youths are three times as likely to mug someone as groups of Asian youth are: If I am more tense and cautious when I encounter the black youths is that profiling? Is it racism? Or is it just situational awareness?

Do you think its racial or ethnic profiling for police to limit their search for miscreants based on Descriptions.
For example Hispanic Male approx 5'9 medium build. Is it ethnic Profiling to put that out so Patrol officers can be more
aware of what they are looking for.

Is it racial profiling when a video shows a robbery in a store by a white male, and a code goes out to look for a white male with a hoodie armed. Reverse it make it a black guy with a hoodie

No, I think profiling because people fit the description of suspects is common sense, not bigotry.

But when did PC ever let common sense get in the way.
