Imagine having more emphysais on work and less on Wall Street games. Think of a place where most of your daily needs were produced and available in a 40 mile radius. A world where people were more familiar with the benefits of manual labor and we were more connected to the land. Where we did not rely on other countries to make our basic products or provide our energy and where they did not depend upon us to arm them. A state of coexistence with the rest of the world where we did not constantly meddle in their affairs. A world where our young people lived through their military service.
What would be so bad about that?

Conservatives would be happy to see every military person survive their time in service.

but I don't think the tree huggers want to see more manufacturing in this country.

I would find a job that required travel.

Preferable to our current state?

It depends on the form that it took. Super modern, with walk-ability, sure.

Did you know that you can literally eat weeds that will grow with little tending? Sunchokes, milkweed, dandelion and burdock to name a few

A society that can take care of itself would not need all the higher paid parasites that benefit from a "system".

That's not a system where the wealthy can continue to get wealthier.

So keep on making them wealthier.
