Virgil Goode....he's a republican from Virginia. He lost his election before last to some dude named Tom Periello ..it was like the election in which Al Franken 'won' and I use that term loosely.

Wasn't Zel Miller a democrat? I don't even know if he is alive still.

Ted Cruz, republican

Sam Irwin...dead of course, head of Watergate committee. He seemed to be fair and interested in justice. I'd be disappointed at this late date to find that he was a jerk.

I don't have a party, but for the purposes of this thread, I'll align with the Green Party.

A politician I like from another party...Sen. Rand Paul, Republican.

I like Bill Richardson who has vast government experience at the state and federal level, including serving as the Governor of New Mexico.

Zell Miller.... a great human being. He did as I did, bailed out of the Democratic party.

Zell endorsed Nunn? A huge mistake.

As to the Green Party, I am just getting started on their platform but it looks to me a lot like Democrats and it makes the claims Democrats make. A poster mentioned his alignment with the Green Party.

Anyone who makes Conservatives look good by making the left look that bad would have my vote.

Look how Obama has rallied the Conservative base. It's amazing.

He is entitled to a mistake.

Nunn declined to say whether she would have voted for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act) had she been in the Senate,[64] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-ap-aca-dodge-64) but said that going forward, some aspects of it should be fixed rather than the whole law being eliminated.[41] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-ajc-announ-41)[64] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-ap-aca-dodge-64)She criticized Georgia's refusal to accept Medicaid expansion under the act (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act#State_r ejections_of_Medicaid_expansion).[41] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-ajc-announ-41) Following the start-up problems with the associated HealthCare.gov (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HealthCare.gov) website, Nunn broke with the Obama administration and said that the individual mandate portion of the law should be delayed.[65] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-65)
Nunn favors construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystone_XL_Pipeline).[15] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-time-mar14-15) She opposes the Obama administration's proposed cuts to defense spending.[63] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-wapo-sam-63)
On the topic of same-sex marriage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_marriage_in_the_United_States), Nunn said she personally favors it, but that the decision should be made on a state-by-state basis.[41] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-ajc-announ-41) Nunn has been endorsed by EMILY's List (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMILY%27s_List), a political action committee that assists pro-choice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro-choice) Democratic women with their campaigns.[66] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-66)
Nunn believes that members of Congress should be forced to pass a budget each year, or forfeit their pay.[15] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-time-mar14-15) In regard to ongoing congressional dysfunction, she said, "There's blame on both sides."[15] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-time-mar14-15) Nunn has declined to say whether she would support Harry Reid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Reid) remaining as Senate Majority Leader, or whether she thinks President Obama is doing a good job.[34] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-pol-unscathed-34) Politico (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politico) wrote "while she's critical of the president's failure to control the deficit, she offered few clues on how she'd tackle the vexing issue."[34] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-pol-unscathed-34) Rothenberg added that Nunn is among several candidates running in challenging states "trying to hide as much as possible and as long as possible so that they can avoid – or at least delay – answering tough questions about issues and, in the [case of Nunn], about the president."[67] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Nunn#cite_note-roth-67)

When I was a state director of the California Association of Realtors, in the latter 1980s, he gave a speech to us as a then California politician. Though a republican, I appreciated his speech and figured i understood why his voters voted for him. Even now he is critical of Obama and that to me is extremely brave.

Michael Steele, has to guts to defend and stand up for his Republican Values, but isn't afraid to call out stupid when he clearly sees it.
