Ryan Crocker, the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan, will step down from his post this summer, after a year of service, CNN reports (http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/22/us/afghanistan-crocker/index.html?hpt=hp_t2).

Cameron Munter, the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, will also leave his post this summer. Serving short tours is common in the diplomatic ranks, CNN reported.

Here is a Specific one on Crocker. They are saying there is no reason given. But on the Below link it says we pay most of the 4.1 Billion a year to keep helping the Afghans.

No doubt that must very frustrating. That would be a tough job for anyone, I expect turnover will be regular.

Well with Allen saying that we will still be conducting operations and now the Afghans taking the lead. I would think it is a recipe for disaster as our troopers pretty much have their hands tied as to what they can do. Waiting to be fired upon isnt the best type of strategy to have in effect. Not when those whom one is training cannot be trusted.

Moreover there still is all the corruption going on and the large sums of US capitol that was stolen by some Afghan Ministers. Plus you heard Obama.....another 10 years there and giving them a Billion Dollars minimum a year.

Now the French pulling out what little troops they have or taking them out of the Combat mode will cause us to pick up this slack.

Good points - it is probably going to get worse for our troopers over there. What a horrible situation to be put in.

The war in Afghanistan has turned into a complete debacle. The only thing that matters now imo is to get the troops out ASAP in order to save the lives of those men and women who are otherwise fated to die or suffer grave injuries.

Rice is a humilating Joke. She got played by the French with Libya.....she has been bentover backwards on Syria. Has no clue with what she is dealing with for the M.E. IMO she has made us look weak with the International Community and all this catering to the Saud and Sunni Arabs.
