Watch Obamacare Architect Jonathan Gruber Explain Why "Lack of Transparency" Was Key to Passing the Health Care Law (http://reason.com/blog/2014/11/10/watch-obamacare-architect-jonathan-grube)

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Professor Jonathan Gruber was, by most accounts, one of the key figures in constructing the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare....

Jonathan Gruber, in other words, knows exactly what it took to get the health care law passed.

And that's why you should take him seriously when he says, in the following video, that it was critical to not be transparent about the law's costs and true effects, and to take advantage of the "stupidity of the American voter" in order to get it passed:

Your link to Snopes debunks nothing. For that matter you via Snopes posted Gruber' quotes for all to see.

Thanks for posting the text of what Gruber said.

And verifying that it was true according to snopes: "TRUE: Jonathan Gruber said Obamacare only passed due to the "stupidity" of the American voter and a lack of "transparency."

The Obama administration has fought that transparency since Day one, remember how quickly they buried Blagovitch?

Exactly. While mouthing transparency as distraction, they've done nothing but slight of hand.

A bit of research turns up why liberals are up in arms about this, and it has nothing to do with the Obama administration deceptive transparency. It has to do with the Obamacare case before the Court.

Meet the Mild-Mannered Investment Adviser Who's Humiliating the Administration Over Obamacare (http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2014-11-11/meet-the-mildmannered-investment-advisor-whos-humiliating-the-administration-over-obamacare)

...He's also behind a series of scoops that could convince the Supreme Court to dismantle part of the Affordable Care Act. Weinstein has absorbed hours upon hours of interviews with Jonathan Gruber, an MIT professor who advised the Massachusetts legislature when it created “Romneycare” and the Congress when it created “Obamacare.” Conservatives had been looking for ways to demonstrate that the wording of the ACA denied insurance subsidies to consumers in states that did not create their own health exchanges. Weinstein found a clip of Gruber suggesting that states that did not create health insurance exchanges risked giving up the ACA's subsidies; it went straight into the King v. Burwell brief, and into a case that's currently headed to the Supreme Court.

...Weinstein dug and dug and eventually discovered the first Gruber quote, known in conservative circles as the “speak-o.” Gruber had been on TV arguing that the case against subsidies in non-exchange states was ludicrous. Yet at a January 2012 symposium, Gruber seemed to be making the conservatives' argument. “What’s important to remember politically about this is if you're a state and you don’t set up an exchange, that means your citizens don't get their tax credits—but your citizens still pay the taxes that support this bill,” said Gruber. “So you’re essentially saying [to] your citizens you’re going to pay all the taxes to help all the other states in the country.”

Just more proof that this adminsitration is the filthiest in our history. It it run by elite, liberal, morons who value their opinion and no one else's. Liars, thieves and crooks.

We in the GOP knew in '09 that the ACA was a dangerous, corrupt piece of legislation that is more of a tool to control and redistribute income, than to revamp the healthcare industry. It's a piece of trash. They must have gotten something on John Roberts to get him to flip. They are dirty, as dirty as it gets. Gruber says the voters are stupid, not the Republicans Grubie! Not one Republican voted for that mess. The Dems own it, with all their stupid voters. It needs to go, the sooner the better.

Certainly more of the same deceptive transparency.
