Why in God's name would she push for a vote on the bill her opponent wrote that would create precisely ZERO jobs in Louisiana when it's a done deal to be passed by the new Congress, then vetoed by Obama? Here's the deal i would offer if i were Obama. Give them their precious pipeline under two conditions:

1) Make the Canadians agree to set aside 5B and take entire financial responsibility for the nearly inevitable cleanups.

2) A minimum wage hike to $9.75

Boom ... see how easy that was? ;)

Landreau has always been a moderate democrat. If you're her fan you should have known that by now.

As a flaming progressive, I'm also a realist. The oil industry in Louisiana is HUGE. If we want a politician in that state to vote with the democrats on other issues, we need to understand that politician has to support big oil to a certain extent.

And your $5b number is way low. The BP cleanup has already cost over $40b.

That reminds me, in her speech prior to the vote Mary said that KXL will create "MILLIONS of permanent jobs". :rolleyes:
