The problem is both parties disappoint.

72% of Americans hate the government. I'd say that's a positive development.

It is depressing that 28% are tools.

Media doesn't appear to be an option in the poll, but that's my answer.

It is, definitely. Oddly, on this forum the focus is still on big business as problem over big government.

Exactly - and the viscous political cycle goes on, as designed.

You mean that little speck bobbing in the ocean waiting for the rescue ship that never comes?

You must be getting pretty hungry by now.

Does this sum up politics in America? You are one of two people.

1. Those who lose every election

2. Sheep who vote to stay sheep.

69% trust govt to do the right thing some of the time to almost always. Only 14% say never.

Guess you can take from polls in different ways....

That's about right.

Based on my earlier suggestions about half of the US population are morons.

Of course that says nothing about what those think it does right or what overlap there may or may not be.

All it all says is Americans are losing trust in government.

I charitably refer to the fence sitters and the 3% crowd.

But in fact the libertarian candidate only got about 1% of the votes in the 2012 presidential election.

If that tiny group is kicking us or chewing on our ankles we never even noticed.

How silly of me to think you could maintain coherence in a discussion. This started, mac, when you commented on the following image, which you seem to have forgotten doing now:

I don't think we can separate big business & government. Its a sick circle that feeds each other. Business buys government which interferes and so business buys more government...ad infinitum. The stopping point? when the taxpayer/consumer runs out of patience and/or money

Agree, correct. The collusion of government and business is the problem. Still, people do tend to separate them. On this forum people tend to blame big business, in the survey reported in the OP, big government. But we've had enough discussions now to know it's the collusion and to know the many ways they collude.

Well, some of us. There are still those who think it's the other party.
