Jefferson owned 200 slaves but hated Aaron Burr. Burr tied with Jefferson on the Electoral Vote. It took over 35 tries to end up with a president.
This is a fascinating story. Harlow Giles Unger lays it out. I feel I learned a lot of very interesting things.
Not only will you learn about John Marshall, but things about slavery, how the army was raised with impacts on our right to bear arms and much more. This video is rich with knowledge.
Jefferson was hateful so some of you Jefferson lovers, might feel slighted by this author, but he put in the research to be correct. Everything I heard matches up with things I too had learned.

Slaves .... marriage ... suppose a free African married a female slave? What was the status of their children? He speaks for a few minutes on that topic.
