Libertarians sue NH over ballot measure: (http://hosted2.ap.org/NHCON/c26bcf5af6bd4fda84f3e73888f72aef/Article_2015-01-01-NH--Third%20Parties-Lawsuit/id-b96a97d5069941b085aaf2fe1eeae9e9)

This will be an important case- libertarians are blocked from access in many states. Hopefully this court rules against the establishment.

The state argues that the change ensures that signatures on nomination papers are valid, but the Libertarian Party sued, arguing that it would make it difficult, if not impossible, for the party to petition its way onto the ballot.

The state asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit, but U.S. District Court Judge Paul Barbadoro refused. In a ruling this week, he noted that the right to vote must be balanced against the state's interest in conducting orderly elections, but said whether or not the new restrictions are reasonable depends on factors that have yet to be explored.

Will they have to sue in all the states to get on ballots as a third party?

I imagine that they will try.

I support the libertarians and about half the time test out to be one. But I admit I am a hybrid. I am a John Stossel fan does that mean anything?

Third parties can get on the ballot in all states provided they meet qualifications, in some states minor requirements, in others any organized party, in still others getting enough signatures.

The OP is about the LP suing because NH has moved the date to begin getting signatures up to January 1, making it more difficult for third parties. A judge refused to dismiss the suit saying, and summarizing the issue quite well: "the right to vote must be balanced against the state's interest in conducting orderly elections."

Isn't NH a big libertarian state?

NH is home to the Free State Project (https://freestateproject.org/).

A lot of liberals fed up with Massachusetts taxes moved in and screwed the state up.

So republicans fed up with Massachusetts taxes didn't have the sense to move?

There are a number of Libertarians here but they are most active in the southwestern corner of the state. My understanding as last I heard was that the free state project has about 16,000 libertarians pledged to move here so far but will not actually trigger the move until they have 20,000. The FSP activists that are here elected to move ahead of time. When the time comes it will be interesting to see how many actually do move and what impact they have.

They haven't totally screwed up the state but not for lack of trying. We exact revenge by forcing them to drive around with "Live free or die" on their license plates. They really hate that.

We see it here in Virgina. Liberals from Maryland voted for so many taxes they are coming here. And they don't seem to have learned their lesson.

Now I wonder why the unholy two would collaborate to pass such a law? Hummm
