View Full Version : So, if Boehner thinks Obama broke the law, why didn’t he take the President to court?

That is, after all, what one does when laws are broken, yes? And Little Johnny Boehner says laws were broken, yes sirree:

” This is not about, actually, the issue of immigration,” said Boehner after a closed-door meeting with rank-and-file Republicans. “What it is: It’s about the president acting lawlessly.”

"We’re voting to block the president’s overreach,” Boehner told reporters on Tuesday, when asked about the potential impact on the Latino vote. “His executive overreach, which I believe is beyond his constitutional duty and frankly violates the Constitution itself.”

Ooooh, sounds like quite the crime spree. You’d think the Speaker would have platoons of lawyers clamoring at the doors of Federal courts, demanding that justice be wrought upon the Eeevil Obamanator.

But he hasn’t. Instead, he is trying to deport Hispanics. Uhhhhhh …. How, Mr. Speaker, does that address the Prexy’s supposed extra-constitutional, “lawless”, dictatorial actions?

The answer is, of course, these deportations have NOTHING AT ALL TO DO with any alleged illegal Presidential acts. It’s just Teapublicans being their usual racist, bigoted, corrupt, motherf***ing selves.

The courts really hate getting in the middle of fights between the legislative and executive branches.

There was never a SCOTUS case about a presidential blowjob. Please don't rewrite history in your PTSD haze.

True. Else the present administration would have gone after the past administration for war crimes.

But can't do that if we're just going to keep on truckin'....

Perjury over a BJ getting impeached over all the crazy shit our Presidents regularly do is fucking ridiculous. Billy must have rubbed the elites the wrong way for that way to happen.

Right, Barry didn't go after George and Dick, just like Hilary, Jeb, whoever, won't prosecute Sotero for his war crimes.

This is your government folks. Enjoy, the best government money can buy.

Perjury over anything is a problem, don't you think?

But the elite comment- they saved him. They could care less about the blow job. They probably helped set it up. And Bill was into lots of other things as a new court case is discovering.

Boxed himself in actually. See Xl.....and this is in your history book...easily researched....Clinton was caught lying about Monica Lewinsky in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case. Laws up to the Violence against women laws signed by Clinton allowed prosecution to establish 'patterns', it was the reason lawyers were permitted to ask Clinton about Lewinsky, while he was being questioned into events concerning Paula Jones. Those without historical perspective will also forget this followed the year of the woman in politics. Women's roles being nationally discussed in the workplace, in our military, etc. Female students at VMI for example, the Tailhook incident(look it up). Captains of industry and high ranking military officials and politicians were being fired or ruined by sexual incidents.....remember it ruined Gary Hart.

And in the midst of all that....it's suddenly no big deal. Clinton...a married man...in the workplace.....and then lying about it on court....and he was a lawyer.

Not ridiculous, the man had a (D) before his name and that's why Xl thinks it no big deal

I don't think perjery over a personal endeavor is a big deal, no. Bill did a lot worse things that slid.

Our criminal justice system can't work if perjury is acceptable.

In every court room one side is lying and one side tells the truth. It's just which set of lawyers can spin it best!

Often it is more complicated than that.

No, it's not true that one side is always lying in a court case. That statement is based on complete ignorance.

His statement to the people was not the basis of his perjury charge.... Perjury is lying in court. He lied in a deposition. And the judge was very close to not just charging him with civil contempt, but with criminal as well. She should have.

Where was judicial restraint? What does any kind of previous consensual sexual relations have to do with sexual harassment or rape? A busybody, power-hungry judge is the one who should have been impeached.

Much of the perjury was lying in a deposition. And for asking Monica to lie too.
