Shots Fired Near Vice President Joe Biden's Home in Delaware

A vehicle drove by the vice president's house in Delaware Saturday night and fired multiple gun shots, the Secret Service said Sunday.

Fortunately Joe Biden and his wife Jill were not home at the time.

The shots were heard by Secret Service personnel posted at the residence and the vehicle was observed leaving the scene "at a high rate of speed," according to agency spokesman Robert Hoback.

While the incident was being investigated at about 9 p.m., an individual in a vehicle attempted to pass a New Castle County police officer who was securing the outer perimeter of the area — and, as a result of the interaction with the officer, that individual was arrested for resisting arrest, officials said.

Joe told everyone that all we need for defense is a 12 gauge. He said that if his wife heard a noise near their country home she could just fire off a couple shots from the porch to scare whoever made the noise away.
