This is controversial?

BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) — GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry told New Hampshire voters Wednesday that he does not believe in manmade global warming, calling it a scientific theory that has not been proven.

"I think we're seeing almost weekly, or even daily, scientists that are coming forward and questioning the original idea that manmade global warming is what is causing the climate to change," the Texas governor said on the first stop of a two-day trip to the first-in-the-nation primary state.

He said some want billions or trillions of taxpayer dollars spent to address the issue, but he added: "I don't think from my perspective that I want to be engaged in spending that much money on still a scientific theory that has not been proven and from my perspective is more and more being put into question."

Over time? I wouldn't be surprised if some of the "solutions" proposed cost the US trillions. It's sometimes a matter of transferring wealth from the rich world to the poor.

Hmmph. Well over time anything is possible. Monkeys typewriters and Shakespeare.

Anyhow, it seems to me they'll have to keep digging to find controversial statements from Perry. This ain't it. The only possibly questionable thing I've seen so far is his position on an execution where it turned out the guy was innocent. I haven't read about it yet, so I haven't made up my mind.

Ah, c'mon. It's Texas. Executions and BBQ is what they do. 8)

All I'm saying is that most of the proposed solutions to "Global Warming" involve ever increasing governmental control and international transfers of wealth. Would I have said it like Perry? No, but the guy speaks all the time. That's what pols have to do. They won't always say things in the way least likely to antagonize or cast doubts.

I agree it's not much of an issue...the fact that Perry has been the front runner for a while and they've not been able to get anything on the guy is interesting to me...I just hope whatever ammo there is isn't be saved for the general election. I've seen them play those games before.
