Nice work! You and Cigar should face off on the links some time.

Yeah I was hoping a least one of those two guys (Phil and Bubba) would stay in contention...guess it will be someone else this year.

I don't half dislike him. I wholly dislike him. Not because he's black, but because he took millions to portray himself as the all American, holier than thou, Mr. Perfect when all the time he was shitting on his fans and his country.

Detestable, is more my thought of him.

Mickelson is someone who can be respected. Plays with his heart on his sleeve. Suffered the problem of his wife's cancer by suspending his tour and both came through the other side. That's the difference between them. He respects women, the other one treats them with contempt.

Bubba? A flash in the pan.

You have to remember I'm British, born and bred. Spent have my life on British golf courses - as a spectator, so it's Westwood, Donald and Rose for me - as well as their world positions.

Your guys? Pssssstttttttt!

Not any longer and absolutely no chance of regaining that position. So you had better either stay away from bars or keep your money in your pocket. Those days are well and truly over.

It's what is being done with a set of clubs that counts, not a chart of figures. But, I suppose you can always bet on what could be instead of what is.

Tiger Bombs at US Open.....

Tiger Woods, in front of their very eyes, in his cream sweater and matching slacks, on a day that started with so much major-championship promise for one of the greatest players in golf history, just played himself out of a U.S. Open.

Let's start with the fact that of 72 players who made the cut, his 5-over score was better than only eight players. The players around him also in the late tee times, all of whom had to wonder on Saturday morning what a ball-controlling and disciplined Tiger Woods was going to unleash on the field, hammered him.
But something else has changed, too. Tiger has gotten older, and at 36, is not even close to the putter he once was. And maybe biggest of all, there remains the nagging thought that the "Ghost of Jack," or the pressure of trying to finally catch and topple Jack Nicklaus' all-time mark of 18 major championships has produced a wear, and a stress, on Tiger's game. There is no way to quantify what may be a mental issue, but things are different in Tiger's world when, for the first time in holding a 36-hole lead or co-lead at a major, he shoots over par in the third round. In fact, only six times in 43 all-time 36-hole leads or co-leads has he shot over par in the third round – none at majors – and only once a round as bad as 75.

Is the specter of catching Nicklaus – a lifelong quest that carries with it so much attendant baggage – the 15th club in his bag?.....snip~

It's a mental issue all right....mentally and physically he got caught lying and cheating and that ruined his image of himself and he will never regain the confidence he once had of being invincible.

Tiger stunk up the course. Good, good, good. If he cheated once or with just one woman maybe I could overlook it but he was a multiple cheater with a wife and children at home. It wouldn't make me sad if he never again won a game of golf.

I wanted Furyk to do well also. But he is not a swell guy by any measure. He is supposedly arrogant and cold as ice. I prolly was pulling for Els the most, as he has always been class.

Once a gain ... I won.

All my local Tiger haters picked guys who either didn't make the cut or were way over +10 for the week.

I like Furyk, I was front and center when he won his last open in Olympia Fields, but I would have never thought he would have been close on this course.

I was really pulling the amateur to at lest get in the top 3.
